It would have been a nice venue, but the people in front would not sit in their seats during the event ruining the view and experience. Security or the staff did nothing to address the issue that clearly was causing a bad experience for the other guests. Total disrespect for the people behind those that stood in Front other the entire time. They didnt have a problem enforcing rules about standing in the aisle or flash photos. Total nightmare after spending big money for tickets to one of our favorite artists. The venue is like a movie theater, imagine everyone standing in front of you during a movie the whole time. Shame on Charleston Music Hall, you lost control of that one. A refund would not compensate enough for the miserable experience we had.

We came downtown to hear some sweet loving music by Johhnyswim that was to start at 8 PM, on a weeknight. Had a wonderful dinner next door, got to the concert 15 minutes early only to find there was an opening act. While musically talented, the musician was playing music about death, suicide, and war that we could only take for 45 minutes before we left the show we wanted to see even started. It was just too depressing. Maybe the tickets could have mentioned an opening act. Because we both work, we wanted a quiet pleasant evening out hearing a duet that we have heard 3 times before. Disappointed.

Great sound, nice seats, good view. Its nice to see live music and not have to stand in a bar getting your eardrums slammed. It isnt too big so there are no bad seats. Despite having a bar, this isnt a party kind of place. Sometimes people get up and dance, and the bouncers calmly clear the area...just like a real rock concert NOT. Still, this place has the benefits of a symphony hall with none of the stuffiness. To make this place perfect, I would suggest more aisle space and video/sound feed piped into the bar and atrium, so people could walk around and be more casual during informal shows.

We had the pleasure of attending your Christmas show on Friday, Dec. 5 and were so impressed with the professional and talented cast of singers and dancers, the decor, musicians and everything about the show. Others who were with us from North Carolina said that it was the best stage show they had ever seen and we agree! The quality, originality and presentation exceeded others we have seen at Myrtle Beach and other cities. Chills went down the spine when the young girl sang especially. We hope that Charleston appreciates and supports your Christmas Special. It is a true Jewel!

We have been twice recently, to see Lone Bellow and Johnnyswim. We loved both shows. The ambiance and the acoustics were great both times. I dont mind opening acts. It gives them some exposure and gives us a chance to check out interesting new music. We can drive in, Park for five dollars at the garage, eat at one of the several great restaurants in the immediate area and walk to the concert. I have been to a better known small venue downtown where the acoustics were not nearly as good. I would go back in a heartbeat and tell my friends to check it out.

Beautiful venue. A little tight but very relaxed. The whole event I attended was extremely loud to a point it was uncomfortable and people were walking out plugging their ears. It was never adjusted during the entire performance even with a sound tech. Wish they would have noticed and turned it down a bit.

Absolutely best sounding venue I have experienced, in America. In previous years the events @ Charleston Music Hall were few and far between but they have since added many shows allowing something for everyone, year-round. Ticket prices are great and many (music) events are about the same price as a movie.

its a beautiful venue, but not all acts are for sitting. There needs to be acceptance for dancing in the isle to amazing music, music makes us dance, they go hand in hand. Securitys tone was unnecessarily threatening to me and my daughter, which i really disliked and left an impression on her negatively.

The manager w/m was very racist not only to me but to the security guards as well and they were wonderful. he kept putting his hands on me and several times told me to sit down. Dont take pics or videos yet he didnt say one word or out his hands on anyone else This was my first & last time there

The Charleston music Hall is a small venue that hosts well known bands! Ticket prices are reasonable and theres not a bad seat in the house. Add to that its local presence, with easy walking access from anywhere downtown, puts it squarely on the not to be missed listing.

Theres not a bad seat in the house! Couple of notes: There are stairs. No elevator. And I recommend the valet parking guys across the street! Its worth the $10. Yes, you can park at the Visitors center, but it will take a long while to get out with everyone else.

Love the atmosphere, ambiance. Didnt seem to have neurotoxic mold, which Charleston has a lot of, and I cannot tolerate for 10 mins. So thats a BIG PLUS. Its not too big or too small. They really renovated it well

The atmosphere that others liked consists of a constant parade of trips to the bar for fresh Budweisers and loud conversations while the performance is on. Tried a second time: same thing.
