This bridge does exactly what its supposed to do. Keeps you out of the water. Every time Ive gone over it, Ive never fallen in. Yet. The scenery is perfect, But if youre not careful, you may slam into the back of a car if you get distracted. Overall, I give this bridge 4 stars, only 4 because its easily closed during icy weather.

Beautiful bridge and awesome landmark for a beautiful historic city. Comically named after a self important jerk of a politician who helped secure funding for the bridge when building it was the only obvious option anyway. Should be named after any other deserving prominent historic figure or hero.

My sister and I walked this beautiful bridge while on vacation here, July 13th, 2017. We absolutely loved the views from the bridge. We started out on the Mt. Pleasant side and walked to Charleston side and then back. We certainly got our workout, but we loved it!

The bridge has one of the most striking figures, and is a wonder to see up close. The view from the middle is incredible, you can see the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier at Patriots Point and historic downtown Charleston clearly from the bridge.

Whenever Im in town I like to hike the bridge and take pictures at sunrise. Nice wide pedestrian path, beautiful views, and a very picturesque superstructure. Its fun to watch the tugs bring in the big container ships from the bridge.

Great walking and bike path with views of Patriots Pointe and the city. Bring a long telephoto lens or a good pair of binoculars since youre kind of far away and the Charleston skyline doesnt have skyscrapers and things appear small.

My wife and I like be walking (and occasionally running) the bridge. We usually chill on the pier for a bit afterward (also very nice to visit). Go early and/or on a weekday to avoid the crowds.

This is a beautiful bridge, I suggest you take a drive across, a walk to view downtown Charleston, walk in evening to view the bridge in full glory.
