This golf course did not honor my Fathers Day reservation for four, though it was confirmed by phone the day prior, and completely ruined our gift to our Dad. We drove 40 minutes out of town to try out the course for the first time as my husband works in the field and enjoys finding new courses to frequent. Nonetheless, we were appalled to discover that this in fact is a horrible course to do business with. We will never go back and I am embarrassed to have recommended this course as a gift to someone I care for. The woman working the bar ignored us when we walked in for no less than 10 minutes as we stood in front of her- while she calmly fingered kitchen orders receipts- before acknowledging that she was also working the office, and coincidentally happened to be part-owner too. She took one look at my gift voucher and turned us away, blaming a tournament that we were never informed of over the phone at the time of booking and which was not indicated anywhere on their entryway signage which indicated (as we pulled into the supposedly closed course) that the course was open to business- apparently to all but us. When I called back to request the information of the woman with whom wed all spoke in order to file a formal complaint with the BBB for poor business practice, she refused, called me ignorant and suggested that we didnt know enough about golf to be there in the first place! I told her that I would subsequently be forced to include the latter- as further evidence of their lacking professional etiquette- when contacting the BBB. Their lack of professionalism and blatant snub of paying customers was an unwelcome encounter on what should have been family-oriented holiday.

As Par 3 courses go this is one of the best in the area. Ive also played the Par 3 at Mulligans Island as well as Swansea CC, which is also challenging, but Windmill is bigger, more open, less claustrophobic and a little more convenient. Yes, one of the women who tends the bar can be a bit aloof (so can the manager, actually) but Ive been playing this course with my friends for around 4-5 years and it has never interfered with our enjoyment of it. My only complaint is that its pricey: $16 in peak season, yet they sometimes fail to enforce common-sense policies like group maximums of 4 people (weve seen 6, which backs up the whole course horribly). And as regulars Id like to see the manager offer a discount when the weather is really bad and nobody shows up to play but us; why still charge full price?? Weekday afternoons/evenings get extremely backed up with league groups, but otherwise after 6pm is a good tee time.

The best Par 3 in the area. Ive learned to take all my clubs, as the prevailing winds can make a few holes play quite long. Theyve lowered the rate to $14, and the all day rate of $21 is a great deal. Conditions are often that of a private course. The restaurant serves great meals, and you can play a game of keno while enjoying your post game cocktail. Cant wait to go back.

Ive visited Windmill 2 Sundays in a row. I am new to golf. But i must say this course is very well kept. Staff is friendly, just an excellent all around experience will be back next Sunday.

A couple of holes require you to hit over hazards (3rd is about 200+ over a marsh) making this a nicely challenging course. Course has always been in good condition when I play.

Its pretty good for a par 3. If you got a little more than an hour to kill, this is perfect.
