I have been going to this historic Theater for nearly twenty years. It is currently to my knowledge largely affiliated with Pennsylvania College Of Tech. Each year the arts center releases known dates of scheduled events. The Community arts center has historically held significantly well known musicians, magicians and great movies. When I enter the lobby and wait with others for the doors to open I still have that sense of a step back in time. The volunteer staff respectfully assist those in need. ( Elevator Service ). The very well kept marble floor and the brass railings add to the historic aspect. With great service the announcement is made that patrons can now enter and make their way to their seats. There are many uniformly dressed kind volunteer ushers who assist those who need so to find their chair for the evening. There you will notice as you may have read by others, that seating is dated to the opera style with declining seating so you have a better view, the seats are closer then what some may be used to at a modern movie theater. If seating may be an issue ( leg room) then I suggest being seated on the floor level. Seating is very tight in the balcony region however if you can tolerate proper posture you will have a great view. In my many years of enjoying the entertainment I have yet to be let down. The acoustics, the decor, and the positive attitude of staff and management make for a great evening. Located in a place where just across the street is a pre or post event social brewery. Its not just the beer, they have a great verity of meals, appetizers and sometimes live casual music. Additionally it is literally next to a historic hotel with full service and other chain hotels all within a short walk. Parking is less then a block away, unless you are coming form out of town and already have hotel accommodations. Adding up all of the great advantages, the quality if the shows offered and the sense of security knowing the citys police department is across the street, I recommend the "Community Arts Center" to all my friends, T. Boone Pickens felt very comfortable when visiting.

Awful The leg room is deplorable. Makes airplane leg room seem generous, and I am 53". I had to sit with my legs spread out. We were there for a kids concert - my 18 month old was sitting on my lap, and his foot got stuck in the gap between the end of my seat and the seat back in front of us. He wears infant size 5 shows - infant!! It was 65 degrees outside of the theater, and 85 degrees inside. We were nauseated and dizzy by the time the (brief) concert ended. If you want to enjoy your entertainment - see it elsewhere.

Williamsport enjoyed its first “talkie” on the Capitol Theatre’s opening night, October 22, 1928, with the premier of Al Jolson’s The Singing Fool. Now the Community Arts Center continues to attract great shows. Over one and a half million people have entered the newly restored theater since its renovation in 1993 by the Pennsylvania College of Technology. Visiting is a must if you are visiting Williamsport.

We attended the Behind the Myths Tour with Jaime Heyneman and Adam Savage last night. We sat in Orchestra Row X Seats 101 and 102. There was plenty of leg room. The seats were mostly comfortable. The visibility was excellent. We will definitely attend another event here if one catches our interest.

Hosting kathy griffon, i will never support your establishment again and neither will anyone from our churches. It is appalling to us that you would support someone so vicious. Also bringing this up at our next bake sale. completely unacceptable.

Beautifully remodeled theater in classic style. Staff members are friendly and helpful. Sound quality in some sections could be better but it is a fairly old facility, sound technology has advanced since it was constructed.

Excellent theater. Staff is great, seats are comfortable, and its easy to find. Parking can get tricky, but the parking garage is only two blocks away.
