I wanted to give kudos to the staff at the Fillmore. My teen kids and I drove from just outside DC up to Philly for the All Time Low show on 7-20-17. I have spinal stenosis and problems with my legs and knees. Standing for long periods is a real painful problem. And I was concerned about all this as this show was a non-seated event. We went in for the bands autograph signing after waiting on line outside for about 90 minutes. By the time we got inside, my back and legs were burning. I touched base with Steve- the head of guest services- to inquire about being able to sit somewhere during the show. Steve told me to just check in with him when we entered the venue for the show, and he would make sure that I was accommodated. Following the autograph signing, ticket holders were led back outside to wait in a line to enter the theater when the doors officially opened for the concert. Because I was already in so much pain, I asked if I could sit for a while on a couch in the theater lobby to get off my feet for a while, and Steve generously obliged, even though nobody was supposed to be allowed to remain inside at that point. Steve allowed me to stay for as long as he possibly could before clearing the area for security reasons prior to the doors opening. This was a huge help, as I was able to take the pressure off of my back and legs for a while. And the air conditioning didnt hurt, either. Once the doors officially opened, I headed toward Steve as directed. Not only did he remember me, but he called me by name, and immediately sent me to another guest services staffer, Kathleen, so she could escort me to the ADA section. I was given a choice of sitting on the main level or upstairs, and I chose upstairs to be a little bit separated from the throngs of people on the floor. Kathleen took me upstairs on an elevator, and led me to the ADA seating. Not only did I get a seat, but it was a padded seat, and also boasted a very good view of the stage. Everyone I encountered in guest services could not have been nicer or more helpful. And while seated, a wonderful young lady named Dominique came around a number of times to check on me and took an order for some food which she delivered right to my seat. I will say this: Given that people were standing in line for nearly four hours (you had to be in line by 2:30 PM for the autograph signing; doors for the show opened at around 6 PM), the Fillmore should really consider having a space, either inside or outside, for the physically challenged who cannot stand for that amount of time, or who may suffer from extended periods of standing in line. I realize that the obvious downside to this is that everyone in line would want to take a seat. Also, while I very much appreciate the seating, the chairs were not very comfortable, and had fixed arms, which can be an issue for people of size. I think the venue could revisit these issues. Yet I am grateful for the accommodation that I was given. As for the venue, it is nice, it is cool, and it is spacious. Good sound, ample refreshment areas, and good rest room space. The Fillmore in Philly is head and shoulders above the Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD, which is close to our home. I made a point of finding Steve after the show to express my gratitude to him and his staff. Steve was very glad that everything worked out well. And he pointed out that, "We want to treat people the way we would like to be treated." Thank you, Steve. Mission accomplished!

This is a beautiful venue. Chandeliers, big open spaces, strategic alcohol dispensing arrangements (i.e. bars)... the joint screams classy affair despite the fact that Id likely be donning a t-shirt, shorts, and sneakers if/when Id ever pay this place a visit. Was here in mid-December 2016 for the Gud Vibrations tour (presented by NGHTMRE and Slander), so for one night, Philadelphia became Trap City. While not my favorite show of the year, production and sound quality were a thing to be admired. The dance floor area is quite sizable, perhaps similar in size and scope to the floor at the Electric Factory (give or take a few yards in terms of its width and length). There is an upstairs observation deck, but it appears that access is only given to very important persons (VIPs). No matter, as a young(ish) man I can still withstand some of the physical ravages that are thrown in my direction (quite literally) by my fellow patrons (and in the form of elbows, hands, kicks, and high knee shots to the groin (all of which are likely to be unintentional, but nevertheless reckless). Not much else can be said about this place, if you enjoy standing around in big crowds of people, gawking at famous people (or at least people who have more social media followers than you), while listening to said people pump out some music that you are enthusiastic about (or at least have a passing interest in)... then this place is definitely worth a visit from you. Before we (my group of 4) even got into the parking, the parking lot attendant warned us that security was going to be over aggressive because they consider Disclosure an EDM concert. I thought that was rather strange, but I decided to brush it off. When we got to the door, males and females were separated to be screened before entering the venue. Security was extremely out of line. They were taking minimal items like hand sanitizer, lotion, and opened packs of cigarettes. Not to mention, as I was being patted down, the security guard spent extra time on very sensitive areas making a majority of the people walking in uncomfortable. As we worked our way to the upstairs bar it was only about 1/3 full. It took me 15 minutes to get a beer. It wasnt even crowded at that point! The $15 dollar general admission ticket area was extremely disappointing but I expected that for the price tag. There was a podium that offered upgraded seats for $35 a piece. I opted to purchase 4 for the group just to enhance our viewing experience. However, if you wanted more drinks your had to help yourself to the bar, which was understandable. I finished my drink and at this point the bar was so crowded that I didnt bother purchasing another. Disclosure was amazing, great concert! As they were approaching the last song, a man in plain clothing and a laminated piece of paper with his name on it was hanging from his belt line approached me. He told me that the 4 of us had to leave. I asked him what the problem was and he proceeded to tell me that just a couple minutes ago I purposely spilled my drink on the security guard on the floor below me (My beer had been finished for 2 hours at that point). He also failed to notice all the people smoking weed, and passing pills around. Apparently, that isnt priority for the Fillmore. As I tried to explain this to him, he gradually continued to raise his voice to the point he was screaming. I couldnt even get a word in with that man. He proceeded to call over 5 security guards to escort me downstairs. It wasnt until this point that I found out that this plained clothed man had some type of importance. Since when is the head of a nice venue not dressed for the occasion? Extremely unprofessional. As I continued to try to explain myself (letting them know that I didnt even have a drink in my hand at the spot they falsely accused me of such a childish act) the security guards now were yelling at me and said if I continued talking they were "going to carry me out." I walked out extremely disappointed, later asking to have my money refunded just to be met with a swift denial. I do not recommend this venue to anyone, the staff is extremely unprofessional and clearly cannot handle simple situations while overlooking larger ones (like smoking weed in the middle of the dance floor). Hey Security, wasnt that supposed to be taken at the door?
