Great Bear is a wonderful B&M invert. In my opinion, its better than Talon at Dorney Park. Its a very odd invert as well. This ride doesnt have your typical layout that you see on other inverts. It is very spread out but surprisingly, pretty intense. That first helix pulled some good Gs. The inversions on this coaster are also really fun. The immelmann is by far my favorite part of the ride. This is a very smooth roller coaster as well. There was no head banging, jostling, or any of that. I also love the sound to this roller coaster. All of the supports are hollow, giving it that roar as it crosses over the midway. Its one heck of a ride and I think you will scream for more by the end of it.
Solid ride. I love most B&Ms like this. My only problem is that the ride was a bit of a wasted potential. After that nice helix, the ride layout is very short and not very fun. The first three inversions are smashed into the beginning of the ride, while the fourth is right at the end. After the first half, the ride just sucks. It gets pretty draggy and meanders back and forth. I love forceful rides but dont mind if they are forceless (hence Wild Eagle), but this just took away from the ride.
Nice coaster. Smooth ride with loops and cool S-turns and corkscrews. Not the fastest, but still fun. The problem with this ride is that no matter how long the wait in line is. The workers constantly send this coaster with half the seats empty. I dont understand why they dont have a single rider line and fill in all the empty seats.
If you like a thrilling roller coaster, ride the Great Bear! We rode it a bunch of times during the last trip to Hershey Park. Not recommended for those that dont like to be thrown around :)
Great Bear is a great roller coaster at Hersheypark! I love how it uses the terrain to its advantage! Highly recommend riding this roller coaster if you visit Hersheypark!
A very good inverted coaster from the greats at B&M... Features some great speed and a bunch of loops as it twists and turns around Hershey Park. Front row is a must...
Es una montaña rusa invertida. No es muy rápida pero es divertida.
Great Bear is a great ride for kids who loves wind blowing speed and loops. There isnt a floor so flipper wearers need to ride on bare foot. Still an epic ride.
Has got to be the best coaster at the park. The ride is super smooth and is really fun. The loops are even better because its an inverted coaster.
One distinct whack in the corkscrew and its way to short for an invert. Its not a bad ride its just a lot of wasted potential.
Great bear is about 20 years old. Great coaster, fast and it roars. Seems like yesterday when I first went for a ride.
I come here every year, and it never gets old! I love it! Its definitely one of my favorite places to have fun!
