Bad Food, Bad Service= Lose Customers. I normally dont write reviews unless something was terrible or exceptional. I agree with another reviewer who visited Sycamore Grille in Aug. 2010 and said "something has changed". In the past I had gotten good meals and good service. This time (March 2011), I got neither. We ordered appetizers: calamari, pork spring rolls and bread with pesto dipping oil. The calamari was cornmeal breaded and far from crispy. They included the tentacles, which I normally dont mind and think are delicious, but they served it as one giant tentacle piece that was impossible to eat and cut apart. Disgusting. The "spring rolls" came out which were larger and fatter than any egg roll I have ever eaten. I hate false advertising in menus; clearly not spring rolls. The giant egg rolls were filled with fatty pulled pork that was seasoned with cumin and salt. Thats it. Seriously. Oh, and served along some jarred duck sauce. Very boring. The bread with pesto dipping oil was oil that was watered down with at least 50% water (it had the consistency of water) with a five tiny chards of basil and this was called "pesto". Again, false advertising and not very good food. To top this all off, our waitress was a complete moron who forgot to bring us appetizer plates and napkins with our martinis and beer (served in soaking wet, fresh from the sink glasses), so our table wound up getting puddled with water, crumbs and was a total mess. Her method of transporting these martinis was a wing and prayer as she slowly balanced it in her hand (no tray) and proceeded to spill 1/4 of the martini near my husbands pants and shoes. "Oopsy!" is all she said. She was also no where to be found half the night and this was Sunday, so not so busy. Bad food and slow, bad service...I will not be back. They need to get a new chef in there for the prices they charge.

Had a wonderful night here! The staff was very attentive and made you feel warm and welcomed. The atmosphere was fantastic and they really did a great job with the decor and lighting. We came in for the steak and ale special. You cannot beat the price for a NY Strip, potato and vegetable with a beer included. We also had the app special which was chicken and lemongrass potsticker with a teriyaki dipping sauce --they were delicious! The bartender greeted us with a smile, was polite and we enjoyed our conversation with her. We were pleasantly surprised to see they had an variety of "late night bar foods" consisting of a jumbo bavarian pretzel with beer cheese, peel and eat shrimp and other options including deserts and other items if you have a sweet tooth. Im looking forward to coming back for a drink and some light pub fare this summer. While we were there we saw that they are offering a Lobster Special on Fridays now that includes a FRESH 1 and 1/4 whole lobster with corn on the cob, potato wedges and 1/2 doz steamed clams for $21.99......we will DEFINITELY be back to give this a try. Great job Sycamore Grille! Cant wait to join you again for a fantastic dining experience!

Overpriced, bland, terrible service, no oversight on staff, and they put terrible spins on classic recipes such as seafood St Jacques. Went to the bar where a waitress introduced herself as our server. She handed us a menu, came back 5 minutes later and took our drink orders, then disappeared. 15 minutes later we got our drinks, all made incorrectly and missing even the garnishes that were described in the menu. We waited 20 minutes for her to come back before complaining to another waitress about her being gone and our drinks being wrong. The other waitress apologized and said she would get our server immediately. 45 minutes passed (not an exaggeration, we timed it), and we asked that waitress where our server was. She responded that "we dont have a server, the first waitress was just being nice and taking our order for us." We asked her for the check, which took another 15 minutes to come on a slow night. She then mixed our cards up with another tables. Never coming back.

Sadly our day of hiking ended with a meal that was less than acceptable. the ceasar salad my friend ordered had hair mixed in with the lettuce and dressing. My order which was a special of the day Cajun Chicken sandwich with hot sauce had a weird texture that made it hard to eat. Wasnt sure if texture was bad chicken or too many spices. As if the chicken was bad. My friend had ordered a lobster/scallop pastry, looking forward to a great meal she was disappointed to find crawfish in place of lobster and that the crawfish was hard or mushy. We shared with our waitress our disappointment but other than a comp for the hair in the salad she did not seem to care that our experience was less than great. The soda even had a bad taste to it. My kids (12&14), my husband, and I all loved our meals. Great from the appetizers to the dessert. My son had the lobster and penne vodka sauce and it was terrific! My daughter had the ribs and again awesome. The salmon burger and the Kobe burger were delicious. For the apps we had filet beef tips with garlic bread and goat cheese with fig sauce. Dessert we had peanut butter cheesecake, chocolate cake, and canoli cake -- all delicious! Highly recommend this place. Wait staff was great as well.

really fantastic restaurant! what an amazing surprise, just driving down the highway from NJ late Saturday evening and needed a bite to eat. searched on Google maps for food that was coming up, and found this place. best road stop Ive ever made! wonderful ambiance, delicious food, super friendly staff and great craft beer selection! highly recommend the fig and brie appetizer and French onion soup. something kind of magical about the interior though, really loved this place.

Tuesday night chef likes to over cook. I ordered the Teriyaki Shrimp appetizer and it was overcooked, tough and chewy. I also ordered the Blackened Prime Rib, rare, and even joked with the waitress IW wanted the chef to "cut the horns and wipe its butt" thats how rare I wanted it. When it got to the table it was medium. Not medium rare. Chefs need to learn to cook food how the customer wants it, not how they, themselves like to eat it. 5 out of 10.

This is an upscale restaurant nestled in the quiet little town of Delaware Water Gap. Solid American fare, perfectly cooked and well-presented. The bacon-wrapped pork loin is absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend upgrading the house salad to the Sycamore Sweet salad, spinach with craisins and crumbled blue cheese topped with maple vinegrett. Can get noisy if large groups stop in, but otherwise is quiet.

My husband and I ate here on Friday, 13-Jan-2012 and it was AMAZING. Our waitress, Christine, was absolutely delightful and very attentive. The food was simply out of this world, especially for the price. Atmosphere was great. We live around 40 minutes away, and will go back again and again, despite the drive. SIMPLY WONDERFUL!

Wonderful food, Fairly upscale with excellent seafood and broiled steaks plus some more inventive dishes -- even ostrich. Entrees around $25.00, including 2 veg and salad. Lots of delicious desserts. Decent wine list. Friendly efficient service. Pros: Everything.Cons: A bit tricky to find, but they give good directions.
