Great little theater. The person selecting the films does a great job of selecting a mix of really promising-looking art-house and indie-type films (which often prove to be as interesting as they looked like they would be) and the more significant of the mainstream movies. They have great special events (like Oscar Night and MST3K-style sendups by terrific local comedians), and you can eat and drink while you watch. What more could you ask? Theyre not a 3D/IMAX multiplex specializing in blockbuster action films, but they have their particular thing, and they do it very well. They fit in nicely with all of the other cool things that the ArtsQuest folks do, such as music, live comedy, and (one of my favorites) trivia (Steve Bost is a fantastic trivia host). Highly recommended.

I am only writing this review because I saw a negative review from someone else (name - undisclosed), and I (strongly) disagree with the assessment. As far as movie theaters go, Banko Alehouse cinemas are truly unique. Small intimate theater so every seat is close to the screen. Stadium type seating so everyone has a great unobstructed view. Cushy, comfortable, reclining seats. Nice audio setup. Very interesting films (not always the top box-office hits, but often artistic and thought-provoking pieces. In my view, the BACinemas are extremely well done. I give them 5 stars. Oh, and they are the only cinema I have EVER been to which will allow me to enjoy a cocktail with my movie... I think the other reviewer probably needed a glass of wine.

I really dont like anything about this place except the movies themselves. How anyone can build a movie theatre and have people walk half a block to get to the theatre is beyond me especially when there is parking nearer the theatre that is not useable. Besides the parking situation, the food there is awful! The only thing they dont mess up is the popcorn and the beer. Otherwise, the food is marginal at best. For all this place was supposed to be, I find it boring and lifeless. There is no magic in the place to me. I dont like going there and many people dont because the parking lot was empty.

You wont find a more personal, comfortable theater than this one. Yeah, you have to park out of the way a bit, but theres valet parking available most nights, and the walk is surrounded by an awesome view of the old historic Bethlehem steel mill. The movie selections are solid, with indie films taking front row often, and a variety of smaller "film festivals" happen there on occasion too. Big roomy seats, and a smaller intimate setting make this place perfect for date nights.

This intimate concert hall and arts space has a very unique feel and business model. The place is constantly evolving; from an intimate concert in the main hall to a wild Bethlehem Musikfest outside, there is something for everyone. Whether you are an avid lover of the Arts, or just want to check out a unique and historic building, you will enjoy Arts Quest. Its located just along the path from Sands Bethlehem Casino and in the old Bethlehem Steel.

I kind of agree with the other reviewer about the food and parking. Food is too expensive and not that great. Parking is too far away also. I can avoid eating there, but theres no avoiding a long walk from the parking lot. This is especially inconvenient in inclement weather. That being said, the theaters themselves are nice. Stadium seating and good picture & sound. They show "art-house" films that the local mega-plexes wont show.

I love to come to the Steel Stacks, the back drop is astounding! However every time we come for a movie the staff seems to be surprised that people are there. There is often just one person at the tickets sales counter and one person at the concession stand work. It is not uncommon to wait 5-10 for a ticket (even if preordered) and another 5-10 at the concession stand

Ive had nothing but positive experiences every time I go to the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinema. The "Soundtracks Come Alive" screenings are a must, and their late-night screenings of cult classic films are great! Perfect for date nights or a Saturday night with friends. I plan on making a trip there in the near future.

This place is great. Its got a small concert venue upstairs and a theater downstairs. So far, Ive been here for comedy shows, a concert and quite a few movies. They generally seem to play indie movies, but they do have a lot of older awesome movies as well. The staff is always friendly and accommodating.

I love Banko. We go there all the time. My wife and I wait for movies to come there. Its not over crowded, the food is fine ( way better than any other theater) and its pleasant. Great Job Guys! Keep it up. Ignore the naysayers. They simply want to complain. Mel Hodges

Place is great. Very comfortable, reasonably priced and the overall venue is in the shadows of the blast furnaces. Theyve done an amazing job in making the Steel Stacks area a model of what can be done to revitalize an area.

Awesome arts hall. The building is slick and modern, but is integrated into the historic Bethlehem steel facility well. The movie theaters are comfortable and being able to bring food and drinks in during the movie is great.

Stopped here to see the Gingerbread competition while in the area and was impressed with the way this building is used for movies, the arts and several other venues. Great way to bring life back to the area.

Great concerts and great atmosphere. The beer selection is limited, but with your Musikfest mug you can get rather cheap huge fills. The movie theater is great too!

I did an Autism walk here, it was great! The scenery was amazing! The music was "Bumpin" and the people and the stores were great. They even had a candy store.

Always cool things going on, and the theater is awesome. I like not having to drive to NY to see independent flims in theaters.
