My wife and I had the opportunity on visiting Ponzi two times over a course of approximately 2 years apart each visits. I have read the negative reviews about Ponzi here, and I questioned the legitimacy of these negative reviews. I have not had any negative experience from any of the sales staff or employees. All were very pleasant, very cordial, and very professional. The ground is very inviting: very quiet, peaceful, and the acreage of the size of Ponzs winery is huge. I dont understand why the size of the winery should matter anyway. When it comes to customer service, this is an issue I will not tolerate if I felt that their customer service isnt up to par or better than their competitors, and I have to say that I have never had a bad experience. There was an issue with my debit card when I had returned home. They sent me an email and a follow up call resolving the issue immediately!!!! They went a step further and sent me a card apologizing for the error. Their Riesling is my favorite: the blend of fine grapes and attention to ensuring that harvesting at the right time is at the right time of the year/month/day shows their dedication and commitment on preserving a reputation for many more years. I highly recommend Ponzi without any reservations. And their cookbook (The Ponzi Vineyards Cookbook) is a treasure! When we had special guests over to our house and the recipe my wife used received high accolade from our guests. IMO, I think those who are complaining about Ponzi are the folks who act like theyre rich -- with high credit card debts -- and expect people to kiss their rear "assets" just because they flaunt their Rolex. And believe me, Rolex ISNT the best watch out there -- if you or anyone out there really knows anything about watches! I rolled my eyes when someone said that Ponzi doesnt rinse the glasses after each wine test. Are you serious? I suggest that if youre that picky, then bring your own f**king wine glasses for heavens sake. Im certain when you have guests over to your house, you dont present changed wine glasses every time someone switches from changing what type of wine they drink during the whole course of their visit! I love Ponzi and I will continually recommend Ponzi to anyone. P.S. I dont work for Ponzi nor am I affiliated with Ponzi.

This review is actually for the new tasting room which isnt listed on Google yet. $20 for a flight of four wines is obscene. Even Bergstrom only charges $15 and pours more expensive wines. And more than just four! But to add insult to injury: we wanted to buy a bottle of sparkling rosé and picnic at the tables overlooking the vineyards. We were told we could only eat their catered in antipasto plate at those tables, otherwise we had to sit next to the bocce courts where we couldnt see the view. Since were vegan, the meat and cheese platter wasnt going to work. We cancelled the wine and left. Trisaetum was more than happy to let us eat our own food while enjoying a bottle of their artist series pinot. I have an olcc license as well as a food handler permit, so I know there isnt an issue allowing folks to eat brought in food on that patio since all their food is catered in. Its just shameless greed. Also they were very pushy about the wine club. Look, if I ask, then talk about it. Dont slap down an order form and pen. Third strike Ponzi. We wont be back.

Very beautiful winery, however we found them expensive for the tasting - 20.00 and they are bit stingy, and it doesnt count towards any purchase like many others. The wine is delicious, we did purchase 3 bottles, which were reasonably priced, but no more so or more tasty than wines from any of the other wineries we visited another time, this same year. If you have limited time and want to visit an Oregon winery this is a good option. If you have more time drive farther out and visit some of the others, skip this one as touist priced because of proximity to Portland.

Beautiful, new and modern. The view is breathtaking. Tiny appetizers $15/ each. The one thing we were disappointed with was they didnt give us a "last call" on wine purchase for our group (while we ordered appetizers) then said, "sorry we are closed, cant purchase wine to drink here - only to go." they kept insisting like car sales men to "buy wine-to-go". Well we did drive all the way out here to enjoy different wines with the view.. But I guess not so much. The manager was really sweet. Definitely will be trying a different place next time.

Delicious wines, friendly and knowledgeable staff. The staff does not hover during the tasting leaving you to discuss your tastings amongst yourselves, yet are happy to answer questions (even show you the wine makers notes). The last time we were there a very large, very loud, very obnoxious group came in. I was impressed at Ponzi staffs management of "wrangling" this group while still attending to their several other guests. (At Ponzi, as with ALL other tasting rooms, call ahead if you have a large group, people!)

Always a great experience at Ponzi. This was my fourth time visiting the tasting room outside of Sherwood. Fantastic facilities, views and the crew is always welcoming and jovial. Yes, the tasting isnt the cheapest in the Willamette Valley but $20 a tasting is not unusual in other regions like Napa, and the price for a premium experience. Great for larger groups, huge interior tasting area, covered outside area and a bocce ball court for when the weather is nice.

During the week this is a low-key place. Its out of the way location makes it a great spot for quiet wine tasting on a weekday. Out has a great view of the Scholls Ferry area and you can see Raptor Ridge Winery from the patio and parking lot. As one of the oldest wineries in the Yamhill county area, it has some very good wines. Pinot Noir is the focus but not sole varietal.

Travel Portland had the great fortune to host the National Tour Association dinner at Ponzi this August. Wow! Not only is the setting beautiful but the hospitality was terrific. Our guests were blown away by the evening and of course, the wonderful wine. If you ever need one of the best Oregon venues to host an event, choose Ponzi. A really amazing experience.

My friends and I visited the new Ponzi tasting room this past week, and had an amazing time. The winery is surprisingly close to Portland, yet the venue is breathtaking. The design of the tasting room is very modern and beautiful, and it looks out over the valley. The staff were very kind and made for a wonderful adventure. Thanks Ponzi!

Too pretensious by half. The girl pouring knew nothing about the wines and $15 for a flight of 4? Oh and they are not dog friendly judging from the barking coming from the cars. Out in the parking lot. In the sun. If you like hanging with arrogant fools who think high price = good wine then this is the place for you!

Ive lost count of the number of people I have introduced to the winery, thats how much I love them. Thanks for making us look good!! Love the staff, every one is friendly, articulate and knowledgeable. Id go back every week if I could...so Ill just have to settle for a couple of times a month. See you soon!
