this seemed like a really cool park but there were some pretty scary homeless dudes around when we went there. i mean nothing against the homeless i know many of them were are good people just having bad luck but these were the really scary kind like probably homeless because of crimes or sex offender stuff. dont mean to scare anybody away its a nice park just be careful and dont go alone maybe

Looking for a perfect scenic spot to see Northern Portland from above? Here it is. Not only you can see both Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Hood, but you can also watch airplanes take off and land at PDX! Gorgeous Columbia River, Government Island, East Vancouver and Camas — believe me, the view worth climbing up a bit! :) Plan to spend at least 30 minutes to really enjoy the view.

One of the best parks for the scenery alone. Its a park that gives off so much of the Portland landscape that it should be a staple for the locals to show any out of town visitors. You can still catch the views in Fall and Winter, but Spring and Summer are the times to go. It can get a bit busy on the weekends, bit what great park doesnt?

This place is absolutely amazing!! The views are spectacular; you can see a handful of mountains, and the city, and watch the planes landing at the airport!! The only thing stopping this from getting a five star rating is that there is a lot of broken glass on the stairs going up, and cigarette butts all over.

Fantastic view of the city and surrounding areas all the way to Mt St Helens. This place is definitely hidden away from view, but the indicator is the tower above the highway. Up top is a nice area with plenty of room to park and on top of the monument a patch of grass to just lay out in and relax.

If you can go on a clear day you will get a panoramic view of Portland. You will be able to see the planes come in and out and see Mt. Tabor far off. Growing up we always made it a stop when out of town guests came to visit. It is a great park to take your sandwich and eat with a view.

Awesome one of a kind views of East Portland , OR and South Vancouver WA from high atop Rocky Butte in a really cool castle looking structure. Also has a radio translation tower up top for local radio stations. I love this place day or night...

This hidden park has amazing views of the surrounding mountains, Columbia river, and airport. It is never crowded and is a great place to go for a break from the city. Amenities are minimal - its all about the views!

This is a beautiful view of the city :) Def worth the drive up, other than look, not much else to do once youre there. Take a cam, a picnic or a date.. Either way its worth checking out.

Come here during sunset/sunrise. The park is beautiful and the view is amazing. Parking is available around the whole park. I did get attacked by mosquitoes so try to bring some repellent.

Great views of the north and east. The west has trees that have grown up so far it blocks majority of the city. Downtown and beyond. But has a small but great spot to watch the sunset

Amazing views of both Hood and St. Helens on a clear day. Plenty of parking too. Enjoyed watching the planes take off from PDX. Would make a good spot to layout on during a sunny day.

An old fort in NE Portland with 360° of great views of the area. No parking lot or structure, just parallel parking on the street. (Weekend nights get hopping with the young crowd)

This is a very neat park. The spire is very cool to hang out on. There is a great view of Portland and the surrounding mountains. I would definitely visit this park again.

This is the place to go if you want some of the best, 360 degree views of Portland. It can be a bit crowded and sometimes people dont clean up after themselves, though.

What views! And a really interesting brick structure leading up to the main park area. It might be a sketchy bike ride up the hill to get there, but its well worth it!

Its a fantastic view, with a very calming setting. Unfortunately, its also a hotspot for high school and college kids to get high, or indulge in amateur photography.

I love this vista area because you can see an almost 360 view of the Portland metro area. I have an assumption of it being a lovers lane at night. ;)

Panoramic Portland. A good place to think. One of the best vantage points around. Also, awesome CCC new deal era stone work. It looks like a castle!

I have always loved this area, if you know what to look for you can get great views and a decent hike in, lots of rock walls to climb as well!

As many before have said, this place has some pretty stunning local views. If youre well coordinated you may just spot your house from here.

Gorgeous scenic overlook with super cool castle like walls. In fact, this was the location of the Viennese castle from the tv show Grimm.

Great 360 view of the portland area. If you are in good enough shape to ride your bike to the top, its a lot of fun zipping back down.

Good views towards the Columbia river, nifty architecture. I feel like it should have a castle on top. Decent spot to watch PDX also.

Such a huge park! Incredible open areas for sports and games, dog off-leash areas, a nice bikeable route through...pretty cool park.

Beautiful view. Not accessible with no peace to park. We come for the view but infrequently. Plus often people have off leash dogs.

Wonderful views of the city and the mountains. It has never been crowded when Ive gone, but it can be a bit cold and windy up there.

Beautiful views however it seems like it is also a popular spot for people to park and smoke pot as well as have sex in cars.

Gotta like my view points. One of the top ten recommended view points in Oregon according to google, and I enjoyed it here.

I guess possibly the best vista point in the city. I spent 2 evening watch the flights land and take off. Love the views.
