If you in the Sharonville area for lunch or just because, its a great little place to each lunch away from work and look out over the Sharonville/I275-I75 valley. The view is open to the south and you can even see bits of the Downtown Cincy Skyline. It is cut into the side of the hill back out of sight, but it is a fun little place for kids to dig and play in the dirt and find neat fossels in the rocks. Good for an hour or two of outside play and entertainment with benches and tables for parents or to have a snack or lunch with a few tribute plaques for its namesake family. Be it just getting away from work for a few minutes or just some good old active learning fun for the kids. Its one of Sharonvilles best kept secrets.

What a great time for kids AND adults!! Took our 5 and 11 year old boys, brought "paleontologist" tools (chisel, hammer, paint brushes and "specimen bags" (ziplock bags). We spent about 2-1/2 hours there and found lots of fossils. You dont have to dig or look hard, you can find them pretty much everywhere. But you can also make it more interesting with tools and magnifying glasses and brushes. Mom and Dad ended up exploring and searching for fossils, too. Engrossing, fun and rewarding. Dont forget your tools and a bag, your camera and water!!

I am familiar with this because I took a Cub Scout Den there years ago to learn about the pre-dinosaur earth history. Its a great place to earn that patch/pin/loop and if its a good day, picnic too. The scouts loved climbing around the park and digging in the earth. We had the added blessing of some true fossil hounds there to give an impromptu educational session above what we found on our own.

Very nice fossil park, all formations were listed by signs. Areas covered with some sort of plexiglass which I guess were reserved for paleontologists were damaged though. Rich in brachiopods, found one trilobite. Very nice, I recommend it to anyone within 50 miles of the place.

If your kids love fossils and rocks they will have a ball at this place. You can go anytime from sunup until sundown and you can dig with anything just shy of dynamite. Take home whatever rocks you like. You cant pick up a rock without finding some type of fossil in it.

Kids enjoyed the findings. Nice sample of fossils and an easy find. It is a large hill. So bring your walking boots! And remember it is just a bunch of rocks! Lol

Youre allowed to use tools here and youre free to climb up on the hill. There are no facilities other than a parking lot and no rangers on duty.

Sent neat fossils here, I feel like many of them have been picked clean by classes on field trips, as it seems like their numbers are dwindling.
