This review is in regards to the wedding planning/Tool Shed side of Breitenbach Wine Cellars. Let me first say that if you are going to this winery for their wine and the actual winery setting, it is one of the best! My fiancé grew up in the Sugarcreek area and every chance we get when we are back visiting family, we stop at Breitenbach. The wine is great, the staff has been attentive, and we’ve really enjoyed ourselves. This was the only place we pictured having our wedding but that changed quickly once we began to communicate with Linsay, their event planner. Our overall experience with Tool Shed event planning side of things was horrible, unprofessional, and very disappointing. It seems as if booking events is not a priority to them and that they dont really want to be bothered with booking an event if its any day besides a Saturday. Many places offer Friday, Saturday, and Sunday event rentals but the Tool Shed isnt one of them. We were told on our original tour of the event space that Fridays and Sundays could be an option and that they would follow up with us with a concrete answer. That follow up never occurred and when we sought it out ourselves months after the fact, we we had to pry to finally find out that Fridays/Sundays were never an option, at all. The communication is lacking and very wishy-washy. My fiance and I felt like we were pulling teeth to even get a follow up call from our original visit. When we did talk on the phone, we weren’t treated well at all. With as great of a space as the Tool Shed is, we would have expected a top notch, super-professional, well organized, and pleasant event planner. Sadly, we did not get that. This experience has ruined how we feel about Breitenbach as a whole as well. We’ve spent a lot of time and money visiting, purchasing cases upon cases of wine, and bringing family/friends from Pittsburgh so they all could experience a place that we both loved so much. It is upsetting that has all been ruined by that experience with one very inexperienced/unprofessional event planner. Needless to say, we’ve moved on from that negative experience and have found the venue of our new dreams, one where our business has been appreciated from the first second of our inquiry. It all worked out in the end… just wish we didn’t have to go through what we did with Breitenbach to find the real gem of a venue.

We stopped in on a Saturday. The staff were at their stations with NO smiles, NO welcome to the people coming through the door, and NO personality. We visited the wine tasting counter which is way to short for such a busy place and the ladies behind the counter didnt know much about the wines except what was new and what had been around a while. They really lacked personality. The wines we did ask to taste were very good. If you can get past the grumpy, poor service (including by the management) you will enjoy the wine. They sell their wines at other places in the area and the staff at the other places seem to know more about the wines and are so friendly that I would recommend shopping elsewhere.

Please ignore the bad review, the people here are nice enough. I dont have to have the staff at any winery make over me. Just give sweet robust red wine and Im happy. This place is very pictureque in the middle of OH Amish Country. Ive tasted many wines in OH and PA and this one is 2nd in line to my favorite in PA. That is saying alot because I need strong sweet robust red wine not soda pop weak wine and these people deliver it.

Nice winery they have a pretty nice selection of wines. I wish that their website had noted that cash is preferred. There is also no atm. I dont carry cash. Which meant that I was unable to purchase any of the delicious smelling bar-b-que. I must say I had a wonderful time today. The fresh air, beautiful location, laughter and enjoyment with my friends made it all worth it!!

The best wine is a refection of your mood. Sitting under shade listening to live music while a faint scent of barbecue drifts past, made this the best wine I had the pleasure to share with friends. The staff took their time to explain several wines, and, while busy, I never felt rushed.

The wine is good. Screw up in shipping to Fl of the deluxe gift box for my family. Was to be 2 day air, ended up taken 4 days fresh food not so fresh now. Blamed one day on UPS. Still not 2. Which I paid for. I like the wine but would not recommend shipping anything.

Overpriced wines. Staff is not very friendly or knowledgeable. $16 for a glass of ice wine?! Stopped at another winery and had a great glass of ice for $8. Pizza took forever and was burnt. Same experience pretty much every time. Frostfire wine is good though.

Breitenbach winery is a Holmes County instruction. We came everytime we come to the area. Large selection of wine and small but tasty menu. Margareta Pizza was incredibly good. It may be the talking, but I think I will buy more wine.

The wine is good but if you are ordering from the Breitenbach website, prepare to be disappointed. They dont understand how to run an online fulfillment business in 2017. Expect slow service, limited communication, errors and excuses.

Went during the Dandelion festival. Their staff were so friendly! We also found a couple wines we liked. You cant beat the view and the building is beautiful. We would definitely go back!
