Original Review: Saw they were playing Start Wars, and got all excited about the OMNIMAX. Unfortunately, it was sold out for that date. Being so excited, we went to see their Robots anyway. Pretty good! We didnt go into the science center itself (the expo area), but the place is pretty slick. Gift shop is very reasonably priced, and concessions arent bad. Check out the pictures, they give a much better idea of the place! Also, bring your ticket to the garage and they discount your parking! :) Update: Had an awesome experience here at the OMNIMAX for the Robot movie, and HAD to see Star Wars in 70mm. Great price for what one gets, at least compared to my local theaters. I was rather flustered with a couple next to me, as they showed up late, and the last 25 minutes of the movie included their personal conversation for 30 seconds every other minute. Not the fault of the OMNIMAX. I advise the second last row, dead center. Ill be honest, I race to this seat. Next to it is an empty space, a great place to set down drinks or a bag, one can lean back (unlike the last row), and this spot is high enough that the safety bar does not impede the view of the screen. I cant wait for the next full feature film here!

SO happy to have this as a local resource. My family spends many happy hours here. Also a favorite icky-weather hang-out with our friends thanks to being Family MAX members. The staff are always wonderful & welcoming. Just wish the Tinker Space was handicap accessible, which is why I deducted a star. Speaking of accessibility, there are handicap parking spaces in the underground lot but getting around the pillars in a wheelchair is very difficult. As a wheelchair user I always park in one of the 3 marked handicap spaces in the driveway in front of the building instead. When all of those have been taken already, management has granted permission to park in the other marked spaces there that are for other purposes. They are aware of the wheelchair challenges in the underground lot. Underground lot is great for those using canes & walkers though so you dont get rained on & the underground lot is not expensive, take your parking stub in to the membership desk to be validated as a museum visitor for a discount.

Camp problems abound. Problems, problems, problems. No ownership or power (on the part of the Director, yes...I said Director) to properly address and compensate for what is admittedly the Great Lakes Science Centers own faulty system - both technical and administrative. I am very surprised at the lack of responsibility I experienced. This is a Cleveland business that asks our community to trust them...with our kids, our $ investment for programming, and for services & information. What is going on over there? It is clear to me that my money is all they really want. No good faith from them. I find their treatment very confusing, very mercenary and, consequently, very empty of good will towards a community resident and customer. Sorry to say...I will not be recommending the Great Lakes Science Center or its affiliated programming - Summer Camps or otherwise - to anyone.

Large, multi-floored and themed across many interesting subjects of the sciences, the Great Lakes Science Center continues to interest me and my children after several repeat trips. As a result, we have a membership now, and plan to go even more often. Even when we think we have seen everything, there is usually a new traveling exhibit to entertain for an hour or so. My 3 and a half year old and I have been going since before his one year old brother was born, and will continue to do so. The only downside is how loud and crowded some of the atria and separate exhibits can get, if you are unlucky enough to share the museum with a large school group (which is often,) but we were all that age once too. Convenient parking and access to the Shoreway nearby have not been diminished, even with the recent highrise development and renovation in the downtown area.

Very fun (even for adults if youre still a kid at heart) lots of interactive exhibits and the prices are good, at least compared to Chicago like we are used to! We paid $15 for each adult, the steam boat alone would have been $9, or you could get a combo pass for $20. We were sad the steamboat museum wasnt open (Mondays), but we had a good time and still got to walk around the outside of it. Wasnt a bad walk from the museum to the submarine, and then to the Womens Air and Space museum. The rock and roll hall of fame is between the science museum and the submarine as well. A nice grouping of interesting things to see! The museum had a parking garage attached to it, I dont know the prices though as we parked a little farther away not realizing they had an attached one.

One of our favorite places! My kids want to come back constantly. The staff is very nice and we love to go out on the Mather (the old cargo ship). The Mather has a museum teaching all about the Great Lakes which is very informative and interactive. The science center itself has tons of interactive and fun stuff for the kids to make and do. The Nasa sections are great, they teach so much about space exploration and life in the international space station, timelines of space exploration and more. It is worth it to buy a membership for the year. It pays for itself after two visits and is a great rainy day activity! Since we joined a month ago my kids have already met an Olympic Gold medalist, and an astronaut at special events for members.

Totally rundown and neglected. This place use to be really awesome, however they have really let it go! Too many of the exhibits were not even functioning and most were just plain, old beat down. Not to mention how much this place costs now! I paid almost $25 for me and another adult to visit. They also provide these camps where youre supposed to drop your kid off....then they just let these kids run wild and tear up the place. I wrote to complain about the higher admission prices and broken exhibits and never even got a response. So not only do they not take care of the place, the have terrible customer service. I will never return.

Really neat place, loads of hands on experiments and information on the space station and on the Mars shuttle. There was not as much as I would expect for such a large museum. There were two levels of information and hands on displays. There were also two play areas for children aside from all the attractions (I have none so we did not visit that part). The fee is $15 for each adult unless you are a member, then its free (I dont know the membership fee). It is near the Rock and Roll hall of fame, so if you want to walk around the Lake and go to museums, its good entertainment without having to drive much.

I went here on a date with my fiancée two days ago, and it was a blast! It was just like being a kid again. They have many exhibits and demonstrations that are all fully interactive, which is great for kids and their young scientists minds. You can let them touch or play on almost anything. I loved the NASA Glen Space section where you could land a lunar lander. Right now they have the Ripleys Believe it or Not exhibit which is just as much a history lesson as a science exhibit, and it too is fully interactive. I highly recommend this for kids, but even adults can have a fun time here.
