Plenty of overpriced Moravian merch, generic souvenirs like semiprecious stones, and fudge. There is also what looks like a legit church, with a pretty nice organ front and center. Contains restrooms, seating, and some historical, informative guff. You can buy your passes to see Old Salem here, park here, get your maps and various bits of information here. Its a good place to start your visit to Old Salem. Even though most of the stuff is overpriced... They do have a clearance table. I bought an absolutely HIDEOUS lion charm for $1 on clearance, I love it. You can see the hideous ceramic lion it was based off of in the museum across the bridge. The visitor center and museum are wheelchair accessible, but I cant guarantee any of the other buildings will be. They are old and historical, pre-elevator.

The Old Salem Visitor Center introduces visitors to the fascinating history of the Moravians, a religious-based community that first settled Bethabara (a few miles north), and later Salem. The Moravians struggled with many of the same challenges of other settlements in the early Colonial period in what would later become the USA. However, they were also remarkably progressive in other ways, such as education for all girls.

A very large, clean, and comfortable welcome center. On par with colonial williamsburg but without the huge crowds. the bathrooms are always very clean. The thermostat is set perfectly on a hot day. and the shops have very interesting items. a great stop if you are going to check out Old Salem.

This was a complete surprise - didnt plan to visit here but once wed stumbled across the centre we visited the old town. It is stunning to see and really well presented. The staff in the centre were most helpful and friendly. The people in the old village were equally helpful.

Very clean and organized. Well kept. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The educational opportunities are great: a movie that plays, books, signs, and historical displays, and others. I recommend stopping by here, especially if its your first visit to Old Salem.

The Old Salem Historic District is always an afternoon pleasure. With fall approaching, the walk is relaxing, the smells of the flowers are intoxicating, and the people, like always are so friendly.

A very nice visitors center with neat exhibits. I hate they took out the Mayberrys from inside, though. It was a well priced place for school groups and those of us who are short on cash to eat.

This place is a more interactive Williamsburg. While not as historic is Williamsburg it is very interesting and well worth a visit. The working Craftsman exhibits are excellent.

Boring. Run by old farts and costs 27$ for a ticket to visit some of the old houses. Not worth buying one or going there.
