We were there with a large group (about 20 ladies) and had called a week or so ahead of time, the day prior, and the day of to confirm. The manager we spoke to the first 2 times was very helpful and promised us the VIP area upstairs. The manager we spoke to on the day of the dinner was short with us and told us she could not accommodate us upstairs and the VIP area was not open during the week. We told her that we had been promised the upstairs area and that our visit was contingent on having the upstairs area. When we arrived they did not have appropriate seating area for us, they had one server and one bartender (who was serving the bar downstairs too). The lighting was so low we had to read our menus by candle light (weird!) or by the light of our cell phones. The waitress was very nice and did try to keep up with a table so large. She was not successful in getting the lights turned up, getting an extra table in a timely manner (although one was provided eventually), or calculating the bills correctly the first time. The orders took a long time to arrive given that we were eating sushi and we were the only patrons in the restuarant. One girl in our group waited almost 2 hours for her California roll. When the sushi chef was questioned, by a girl from our group, he was defensive and rude. We asked to speak to the manager, who came upstairs to talk to the waitress, then went back downstairs and then returned a little later. She was unapologetic, told us that all of the problems we were encountering were our fault because we told them that no one would be eating, we would only be having cocktails, and we insisted on the VIP area which was closed. This was poor behavior on the part of management. I told her that we were not looking for excuses. We were looking to let her know about our experience. Overall, the place was too dark for dinner, they have slow service, their employees are rude and claim to be faultless, the beverages are served in plastic cups, we sat at folding card tables, and the sushi left much to be desired! I would not reccommend Mirage for any night life event, dinner or otherwise. I will not return and I will encourage my friends to not return or visit also.

Absolutely horrible. We had a group of 20 in the VIP section for sushi on a Wednesday evening. It took close to 2 hours for one girl to get her california rolls, it was so dark no one could see the menu. We asked the waitress if we could get a light turned on and she told us sure but that never happened. We used our phones to try to read the menu. They were out of several fish and the paper sushi menu did not match the main menu. Additionally many things were misspelled on the menu-not to nit pick but for the prices you would think they would use spell check? The water and wine glasses were plastic! We ate on folding card tables. They didnt have enough seating for everyone in our group. The food was ok but not great. The service was bad, one person tried to speak with the sushi chef who yelled at her. We tried to speak to the manager who was stone faced and basically said that it was our fault because we werent really supposed to be in the VIP area on a weekday (we had been promised this by another manager) and they were understaffed. The music was strange-Cotton Eyed Joe followed by Bob Marley followed by Dream Weaver? This place is bizarre and the layout is odd, it seems to be in an identity crisis of club or restaurant and they are failing miserably as a restaurant. We will never go back and this place will never succeed.

Yak, I dont think this is a place for sushi. Night club for sushi??? That was my question when I wanted to try this place. The sushi are not fresh tasted like marinated with something, thats why they used a lot of sauces to cover it. I ordered couple sashimi, the fish tasted fishy already. The rolls are so so, I think Sushi Blue is a much better place for cheap rolls. At least Sushi Blue is buy one get one. This place buy one get 2nd one half. They also cheat you off by giving you the lowest roll for half. The wait staff are not knowledgeable, they dont understand anything about sushi when I asked them couple simple questions like what is this, they go "uh..uh..." Sushi chefs are cold and not friendly, acted like they dont wanted to be there to work. So, we just left the place without staying for any drink or dance. That was my horrible experience after hearing so many advertisement from the radio. I will give them another try only for the night club not for sushi period.

Identity crisis... This place cant seem to make up its mind, is it a sushi bar or is it a night club (both of which it doesnt execute well either). Went here for sushi after hearing all the buzz about the place and was extremely disappointed in the service and food it self. Our wine was brought to us in plastic wear and then the martini was watered down it tasted like salt water. The waitress had no idea what sashimi was (since it wasnt on the menu at a sushi restaurant?), the rolls were small portioned and werent any better than what you could pick up at Harris Teeter. But I guess the one good thing is that the meal wasnt over priced and you knew you werent paying for the "atmosphere". Went there on another night when is was a club and it just seemed really scene and everyone was caught up in the thriving "glitz and glamour" of Raleigh, idk wasnt my place it is worth giving a try though I guess.

Friend and I went to try it out and had sooo much fun! We were looking for a place that has good sushi and music and this place has them both!! Mirage has the best sushi in the Triangle!!! We had never tasted sushi like this anywhere before and were so impressed! The sushi tastes so fresh, not like a lot of these places around here that tastes like the fish has been frozen for months! :( If you know anything about sushi then this is the place to go! You will not be disappointed! Mirage has a great variety of music and great atmosphere. All staff were polite and very friendly..No complaints!! We have found our new spot! ;) We will go back....again and again!!! You must try it...and you will also go back for more!

This is one of the best night clubs in Raleigh. The sushi is phenomenal! Especially the "Suzie Q", I highly recommend it to those who are curious about sushi but dont like fish! The night club premises, music, and light effects are great. Unfortunately, much like in almost every other night club in Raleigh, the "hospitality" offered by bar and wait staff is mediocre. The bouncers, although proficient at their job, are little more than that: big-sized bullies who are eager to bounce people out, rather than promote an atmosphere of safety. They can greatly improve their professionalism and revisit their concept of hospitality. That aside, this is an amazing club and it is worth visiting many times over.
