The two stars are for the music pavilion itself. I have been to concerts both on the lawn and in the seats under the covered area, from Section 2 (front and center) to Section 7. There really isnt a bad seat to hear the music. Of course, closer is better if you want to SEE the performers, but if your goal is to hear live music, this is a great venue. Since it is an OUTDOOR venue which operates RAIN OR SHINE, I prefer to pay extra for seats which are covered, and there are fewer drunks (it seems) in the seats than in the lawn area, but your mileage may vary. However, the real reason for TWO STARS is the parking situation AND the Uber situation. For the love of God, cant the management of this venue figure out how to optimize traffic flow into and out of the venue?! If not, HIRE SOMEONE because this alone is enough to discourage most people from attending shows at Walnut Creek. The first time I drove there and parked, we were stuck IN THE LOTS for an hour and a half after the show. It was pure, unadulterated chaos. There was no egress traffic flow, and it was a mad dash by every single car in the lot going every which way but in in a straight line to get to the exit. Likewise, if we had not paid extra ($30, by the way, which is ROBBERY) for the "premier parking pass" AND arrived at 5:30, we would have been stuck in a similar situation trying to park before the show. This was last year, at the Weezer/Panic at the Disco concert: PURE. CHAOS. I cannot stress that enough. You need to aware that they DO NOT track the number of Premier Parking Passes with the number of available spaces in the "premier" lots. Thus, if you arrive late, it is quite probable that you will have paid $30 for nothing because those lots will be full. This has happened to many people who purchased the pass in advance, thinking they would have a spot if they only wanted to show up in time to hear the main act. NOPE! They paid $30 *and* had to park in the lot a mile away from the venue. Thus, last night we decided to Uber to the Train concert, hoping it would be a smoother entry/exit experience because they advertise Uber heavily at the venue AND have a special Uber pick-up spot near the main gate. In addition, on the Uber site, they have a map for drivers which appeared to indicate a dedicated entry/exit process for drivers along with a map. Seems better, right? NOPE! They funnel Uber drivers through the same jacked-up entry traffic lines trying to park AND through the same jacked-up exit traffic lines after the show. The only benefit to taking Uber (or a taxi) to Walnut Creek is you arent parking your car a mile away, and Uber is still cheaper than the $30 highway-robbery premier parking pass. If they are going to advertise and partner with Uber, they need to have dedicated ingress & egress routes for Uber drivers. They could accomplish this with some traffic cones and signs designating reserved Uber routes to the Main Gate drop-off point and reserve Uber exit routes after the show. I will say that after the Train concert last night they DID have a few people at exit/entry points in the lots trying to direct traffic, and I didnt see that last year at the Weezer concert. It only took us 30 minutes to exit in the general traffic, but the Train concert didnt seem to be as heavily attended as the Weezer show. Therefore, I have no idea if their minimal traffic management was actually helping OR if it was just a much smaller crowd of people to gum up the works. If this venue can optimize the parking/traffic situation, it will be the best outdoor venue for live music. Until then, I prefer Red Hat Amphitheater in downtown Raleigh, even if it isnt a partially covered venue and is smaller: about 6,000 people compared to 20,000 at Walnut Creek.

I have attended concerts at Walnut Creek for 20 years & Ive attend concerts in state & out of state. I say with 100% certainty that Walnut Creek, with its unique lay out, refreshments & all seats in the venue are extremely good. From the parking entry entrance workers as well as the many kind folks who assist one in finding tickets all are kind & patient. Attending at least 50 concerts there, Ive never once met a staff member who is not offering kind service to all. Walnut Creek is so unique with the lawn & covered seats that ALL wishing to watch a performance at this clean & well oiled machine working to accommodate each patron. I will NOT travel to another city or town to view a concert elsewhere. Do not fret or worry if assistance is near by, hundreds of staff members do not mind helping a ticket holder in any form or fashion. I feel fortunate that traveling from the beaches of NC to the metropolitan area of NC is an easy drive & the past record of all staff/ vendors of the many concerts Ive attended at Walnut Creek are positive minded & as nice as possible. Refreshments, tee shirt stands & all other services are top notch. The Pavilion are extremely clean. Never seeing trash on grounds, areas around our seats & bathrooms are also very clean & one gets a "rush" entering the gate & amazed at the lack of trash, litter or any disturbance. I hope others will find events at the Walnut Creek Pavilion. I give this venue a 100% standard because of past words & as well as the many on site staffers of whom assist one finding seats, monitoring & WILL find that no concert viewer will have thoughts of unsafe area. Ive been spoiled at the Walnut Creek Pavilion & will attend no other venue to watch the performances suited to meet ALL needs of concert goers. If youve not entered Walnut Creek Pavilion, I highly recommend this open air venue. There is not a bad seat to be found. Because of this I will quickly give friends the glowing description of fun & safe surroundings. It also an appropriate venue for having your child attend a performance there. Such an easy entry & exit after a concert. Spread the word, Walnut Creek is number 1 venue.

A Lot To Talk About
I agree with Robert Diab!! He posted on here about 4 weeks ago pertaining to a concert he took his family. My husband and I attended the REO concert this past weekend and it was completely ruined by attendees drinking too much and 40, 50 and 60 year olds acting like teenage groupies! It was embarrassing and the staff wasnt about to do anything about it. This was a vintage concert with Chicago. We are not fuddy-duddies, but we are also grown people who came to enjoy some memories, not look at the rear-ends that stood up the entire time right in front of us. We sat 13 rows from the stage in the center and could not see a thing! We ended up watching the Jumbotrons that were at right angles to our seats. For vintage concerts, there should be additional rules of conduct...and a dancing and drinking section would be ideal!!! Thanks for the idea Mr. Diab!! My husband is to begin cancer treatments tomorrow and this was supposed to have been a gift of time together before the "storm" so to speak. The evening was ruined by inconsiderate individuals who didnt care that others were seated around them (it wasnt just us)...I suggest that if anyone wants to actually see the show you have purchased expensive tickets for and travelled 3 hours to attend, that you make sure you are on an elevated plain...we would have had better views from the grass!! Do not expect staff to help you...their hands are tied...and this situation did not come under the heading of calling or texting the number that they give you for complaints. Im sure the show was excellent, we wouldnt know...very disappointed.
