We spent $3000 on this for our Thanksgiving vacation and wish we had gone to Disney instead. We went last year and had an okay time. I overlooked a few things last time because the resort made amends to the fact that housekeeping left our door wide open while we were away. (Yes, for real. ) This time, however, things were worse and nobody cared. First, our AC heating wasnt working properly. It would cool down or heat up way below or above the temp you set. Leaving you freezing or boiling. Plus, theyve disabled the fans to save them money, so dont even think about cutting it on to drown out the hoards of buffalo that run up and down the halls late at night slamming doors. (FYI, I did request a quiet room when I made my reservation. I did not get that. I even had to complain to the people next door because their all night party was keeping my 4 and 2 year old awake!) Anyways, when I called the front desk about all this, I was told it would be looked into, and I never heard back again. We were here Wednesday thru Sunday! I was done after Thursday with this mess, but you know, no refunds. Second, the whole resort has things broken or theyve cheapened out from last year. The main story time animation is broken. The Indian girl stays inside the tree. You can barely see her. The lighting is out over her. If this is the main toddler attraction, then shouldnt it work? For $500 a night I would hope so. Third, we bought our kids the pup pass only to find out that the Kids club project where they could make tshirts or pillowcases or bags had been cut from the pass. But the pass itself was no cheaper. Fourth, more corner cutting at the water park. Its supposed to be 85 degrees or warmer according to their site. It was 50 outside and the park was maybe 70. It was freezing. Our kids were so cold, we couldnt be in there for long, so there went another main attraction. The water park last year was very warm and nice. I expected the same this year, but I was let down again. Fifth, we stay longer to visit Santa and get pictures. Hes a good Santa. But do you know what you get for $500 a night room stay? Charged $17 for Santa pictures. Sixth, my children like to meet the characters, but they dont provide a schedule of what character will be out at the meeting times. So youre stuck winging it trying to get them to see each one, and some are repeated the entire day! So one character per day. Take a Disney lesson.....give a character map with character and location. Seventh, the elevators are super slow, packed, and smelly/wet. Theres always water in them from wet water park people. Theyre always crowded because they refuse to put signs up asking the Magicquest folk to use the stairs if theyre only going up or down one floor. I cant tell you how many kids are running around unsupervised, holding up elevators, and mowing you and your kids down as you try to enter or exit the elevator. Its insane. And stairs arent that doable with a 4 year old, 2 year old, and one in your belly. Finally, our Thanksgiving meal reservations were screwed up horribly again. It happened last year and this year. We even got the guys name from last year to make sure we got in this year, and they still screwed it up 4 times, including telling us one time that we had cancelled our reservation when we hadnt. (Why would anyone cancel a thanksgiving meal reservation at a resort when theres nowhere else to go?!) So I spent $3000 to have no rest, no sleep, no good time and no money. And of course the kids are sick now due to the lack of sleep and chilly water park.

So, okay.....this is a good place for kids, safe and fun. However, prices are outrageous and customer service (via telephone and at the front desk during check in) is terrible. When I originally planned my trip, it was for 2 adults, 2 kids, getting the cheapest room (the wolf den) for two nights hit a total with taxes and fees and 2 "paw passes" for younger kids around 800, with 300 due upon reservation. Ok done! Then we end up with 2 more kids so I called over a week in advance and asked for a suite big enough for 6, it would be an extra hundred a night, ok fine, gave them another "300 dollar deposit to reserve my room" so with the 600 I already paid then when I got there I should owe 400, correct??? WRONG!! I called the night before to make sure that our room was reserved as I had paid the extra, the lady on the phone said there were no guarantees on the room so if I got there and they didnt have the room I paid the extra deposit for I would keep the wolf den and only owe 200.....so I went with it, had to, already requested off from work, my husband is army, he took leave, plus kids were on spring break. We get to the front desk on the day of check in, "the amount owed is $949!!!" Talk about a freaking email scam!! They send you an email saying you get this upgrade at this rate if you book in advance.....its a scam!!! what the what?????? How, why??? So she explained that when I upgraded they didnt have to room I asked for and put me in a more expensive room to accommodate 6 guests. Luckily I had all the confirmations and numbers......ended up speaking with management on how an 800 trip turned to 1600....."the room rates changed the day before I checked in" SO!!! I booked in advance, so I should get the rate I was confirmed at! After it was all said and done we still ended up with a 1300 for 2 nights room that accommodated 6 guests. Pros: the water park is great, you get wristbands instead of room keys so kids could run crazy and still get in room when they needed to, like say everyones at the pool and one kid forgot googles, she could run to room with her wristband and tap the door to get in. Also the paw pass is a great value, with everything they get to do with it, compared to the prices of individual items it does save money and gives kids something to do besides just the waterpark area Cons: very expensive, its a waterpark people not Disney world......you pay the same amount at Disney world and can do a waterpark and then some......rates need to be lowered, seriously, there is nothing spectacular about the suites. I will never ever go to another Great Wolf a Lodge again, and Ill make sure all of my friends and family know not to fall for the whole "book in advance for a nicer room" email.

I will not recomend this Lodge any more with my last visit to this lodge i have a situation with one the employee from the lodge, some one from the front desk they charge my credit card that i provide to them when i call to book my vacation, i know that we are humans and we make mistakes, but they never toldme or inform to me about the situation until my wife went to check our bank account and saw the charges to our joint account, as sonn i saw those charges i call the 800 number to let they know what had happen and they tolme that i was need it to call the lodge number and request to speak with a manager, so i did fallow the instructions when i call to request to speak with a manager, an other person forward my call to a person with name Bernard who told me that he was one of the managers, when i explain him what happen he said that our money was refound to our account the same day July 2 2016, and i told him that they handle this situation Inapropierthly, and soon as i finish expresing my self that i was very absed about it, He told me that they had refound the money to my account the same day and it was up to my bank to reenversme or free the money from a pending item, i try to let he know that my concern was that before we leave to go into our vacation my wyfe send our mortgage check and few other bills payments as well a iwas try not to have any check return, and before i can said something to him with a NASTY ATTITUDE AND YELLING AT ME he said i listen to you while you was talking now you have to listen to me and when that happen i told him that i cant not belive what was happing a employee who part of hes salary is coming from my money spended at the lodge was yelling stated of be concern for the mistake make from the lodge that could let into over draf to my bank account, at this point i reach out to corp office and when inform them about the situation they call the General Manager at the lodge, she call me to resolve the situation and i found that this person it was not even a manager, she try to take part of my room charge off and i told her that we went there because we were able to afford our vacation time and I was not asking them to give me any free staff, is very sad how a Nation wide Bussiness will allow a employee to insult a customer who can be a potential long term customer like that.
