I booked a trip for 6 guys to play Carolina National for a friends bachelor party on 10/20 and 10/21 for 27 holes each day with lunch. Before I get into the negative, the employees (not the Managers or the lady in the pro shop) were very nice including Jessica and Cliff the starter. On Saturday we teed off in 2 groups (5 golfers and 1 guy that rode along) at 9:45 and by the 3rd hole we played as a 5 some and still had to wait every single shot which led to a 3 hr front 9. At the turn we stopped and overheard a loud argument with the kitchen staff. The 2nd 9 was not any better and we were do lunch at the completion of 18 holes but the grille was closed so only cold food. (as we were placing our order the food and bev manager came out and angrily yelled at the bartender "Cold Food only" which we found very unprofessional. We played our last 9 and finished just before darkness. On Sunday we had originally planned the same arrangement but due to the situation on Sat, we only decided on playing 9 holes. Only 4 played and 2 others road along. when we checked in we explained our situation on Sat and the lady did not offer an apology but said "that is what you get when it is cart path only" which for golfers is not the case. As we played our 9 holes we had a ranger following us constantly sitting in places just watching us even though we were playing at the correct pace. Our reasoning for this is he thought we were trying to have the 2 guys play that did not pay and those guys had no interesting playing at all. Needless to say I will not go back to this place and would not recommend it either

The course was great, but we took a couple of new players and the ranger was very rude. He stopped us on 8 and told us to catch the group in front of us that started 25 minutes before our group. Then showed up again on 9 and just set there staring while we were hitting our 2nd shot. We were 25 minutes ahead of the standard speed of play. When I asked him if we could help him... He said he would stop staring if we would catch the group in front of us. It totally frustrated one of the beginning players that almost quit because he said he wasnt good enough to keep up.

Overall, a good, solid golf course. Staff very friendly and course ranger came around to make sure pace of play was acceptable. Fairways in great shape. Green were just aerated, but still rolled well, which speaks to how much they are willing to go to make their course in good shape. Only negative was that some of bunkers were so hard they were unplayable. Bunkers everywhere so beware the beaches. Good course though. Worth the $50

Great course and in perfect condition. Booked for 12 on March 19, 2013 and were greeted by friendly staff. Not known to us we all got coupon for one free menu item and two beers after our round. We asked about playing the third 9 after lunch and they said no problem. Course is in amazing condition even for early spring. We had a great day and well worth the drive north from Myrtle Beach.

Nice course. I really enjoyed the round here. Nice and very helpful staff. My high school daughter was a little concerned when we learned they were pairing us with another twosome. But after meeting the two very nice gentlemen ( one who lives on the course) she was at ease. They were very encouraging to her. Thanks for an enjoyable round Ori and Caroline National.

Very friendly staff started from checking in at the pro shop by a nice young lady that made me feel welcome and gave me good information before I played. The course was in excellent condition and a treat to play. Worth the drive to play. The person that took my cart when I was finished asked me how I liked the course and completed a wonderful experience.

This is a great course to play. You can easily set the level of challenge depending on the Ts you play. Worked very well for us with a group of mixed skill levels. It was well maintained with good greens even in the middle of the summer. Well worth playing if you are anywhere nearby.

Enjoyed the Heron and Ibis 9s today. Greens were perfect, receptive, and a good speed! Fairways were perfect. Staff members were exceptionally hospitable!! Highly recommend this place. You cant find a better experience!! But buy a yardage book...its worth the $5!!!

Read some negative reviews about this course and have to say that they are unwarranted. This isnt a top tier course, but this course is well worth the money. Everything was at least in good shape. Layout was nice. Staff was friendly.

Awful waste of money. Got paired with a group of awful individuals and couldnt even get past the first hole. When I make a tee time for just myself I expect to get that, not to get paired with a group thats already playing.

Great value golf course in the area. One of the nicest people around - great service from the moment you show up. They are changing the greens so you have to be patient since the surfaces are different. Great value overall.

This was a great course to play on. Played all 27 holes and enjoyed them all. The course is kept in good shape, although being well north of the Myrtle Beach cross might have something to do with it.
