normally, i play only courses listed in the Golf Digest ratings guides. so the river course turned out to be a pleasant surprise for my wife and me when we were driving nearby on a saturday afternoon in late july. although unrated, it is a scenic layout by the side of a river in a forest. at the moment, fairways are in excellent condition, and the bunkers are playable despite recent heavy rains. four sets of tees, ranging from 4,434 to 6,391 yards. according to the pro shop, the greens have recovered a lot over the past two years. although we noticed there were still bare spots on some greens, the pins were placed such that they did not affect play. greens were slow, probably due to trying to preserve them during the recent heat wave. all in all, a very pleasant experience.

Good challenge, tough golf course. The layout has a number of blind shore that punish good shots. Play the course a couple times and these blind shots will not punish you. Greens need to be cut a little closer they are terribly slow. Pins need to be moved edges of cups are grown over. Most greens have only one or 2 visible cup marks on them. 4 or 5 holes you tee off from the fairway because the tee boxes are under repair. Those boxes appear to have been under repair for an extended period. Overall it is a great layout. I would play this course again.

Played there on May 21 2011 this course is not worth $35. The greens are in horrible shape they are full of fungus and any bare spots on the greens are just filled with sand so make sure you take your sand wedge with you when you go to the green. If they didnt have a tournament that day i would have went back in and asked for my money back. Seriously if you want to play golf in the Louisburg area spend the extra money on gas because you will be disappointed if you go to this course. Go to Bull Creek musch better course.

The course is very poorly maintained. The greens are terrible slow and have weeds growing in them. The tee boxes look as if they havent been watered in months. The only positive was the man in the pro shop was very nice. There is no real difference between the rough and fairways and the rough is so bad you cant find your ball on any of the holes. Overall bad experience and seemed way overpriced, much better courses in surrounding area for a better price and experience.

the course is in great shape the greens are fast and smooth i played there in feb 2012 and i was impressed at how much the course has turned around sine last year anyone who has not played there in a while should give it another shot u will not be let down it is well worth the money i think it may be one of the nicer golf courses around for the money

Honestly, this is one of the better courses in the Raleigh area. The course is very challenging. The majority of the greens are elevated and are very fast. Water comes into play on several holes. The week day price of $23 to ride is a great value. Highly recommend to those who are looking for a course that will make you think.

This course is a hidden Gem, it did have a tough summer a couple of years ago, but it really has bounced back. The greens are in great shape and the layout is challenging but fair. Really a great place to play a relaxing round of golf!

Greens were terrible. Bare in spots and the cups hadnt been changed in days. It was the weekend and there was dead grass hanging in the hole and sticking up around the edges of the hole. Wont go back.

Bald spots, hardpan and in desperate need of a $ 3 million infusion for fertilizer and a working sprinkler system. Terrible conditions and having to pay $10 for 9 extra holes was pitiful.

Price isnt horrible and its not usually too crowded. Course is nice for both front and back 9.

We love to play golf, found the front 9 challenging, manner hazards. But still fun
