Gooble Gooble, as our Fall Bucket List comes to a close with our final event- Nai Ni Chen Dance at Naz. As you may of guessed it, this dance was taking place at the Nazareth College Arts Center. Finding your way around Nazareth College is quite a challenge, as you really have to take the time to look at the campus map to know where you are going. Thank god Ebbie B. found her way back to the auditorium after going around circles on campus for 20 minutes. The auditorium center looks spectacular, as it was just completely renovated in the last couple of years. You will find many rooms with interactive art exhibits from local students on the top floor. Security inside the center is top notch, as they thought my China Bowl I received at the Chili Cookoff earlier was a bomb in my backpack. The Pre-Dance Lecture: This was a great introduction class to Nai-Ni Dance company by no other than Nai-Ni Chen herself. Nai-Ni Chen is the choreographer/artistic director who runs one of the few touring Asian-American dance companies in America. It was interesting to hear about the struggles she had to go through here in America as an Asian-American woman who established herself in the world of dance. She went into details about tonights program, and the interpretation of all the dances that where going to be performed. This helped because this is a very complicated dance to understand, and I would of been lost without the preamble. Her routine of dance has been based upon thousands of years of ancient Chinese traditions. The Intermission Bar: Props go out to the entire staff of Nazareth College who where very informative about the events going on around campus. They continuously served Ebbie B., and I cocktails of our choice throughout the entire show performance. Upstairs near the auditorium, they had very plush relaxing seats surrounded by a variety of electric fireplaces to enjoy your drink. Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company in the Auditorium: The Auditorium center at Naz is HUGE, and can seat over 10,000 people. We had the pleasure of sitting right in the back middle rows to enjoy the performance. Like stated, this was a hard dance to follow, but it helped that most of the male dancers did not have shirt on. It was hard for Ebbie B. and I to concentrate with all the flexible good looking dancers doing flips across the stage floor. Key dances included Raindrops, and the companys critically acclaimed dance called Incense. At the end of the show the fire alarm went off, and everyone dispersed rather quickly. I swear the alarm was not caused by my China Bowl. Overall: Nazareth Arts Center, The China Bowl Flop, Informative Lecture by Nai-Ni, HUGE Auditorium Center, DANCE, The Intermission Bar, Art Studios, and the Fire Alarm....I Will Be Back for Another Performance!!
