What a perfect Sinatra Saturday!!! We had great seats up in the balcony and because of a cancellation for the 10:30 show, we got to stay in those great seats for both. It was such a nice setting, fantastic music, good jokes, and very romantic. I love the way the building feels (even though they are currently remodeling so its a bit of a mess--the lighting was SUPER bright or not at all by us). Its like you step back into a more elegant slow moving time. I loved it! Only complaint, the table behind us, especially for the 10:30 show would not stop talking. I know they didnt have a view so they couldnt see the orchestra at all, so maybe they thought it was just for background noise and it was not as appreciated by them. But seriously we couldnt hear any of the jokes for the second act. Maybe the waitress (or someone that works there) can ask these groups to keep it down or leave? I finally did and they were quiet for a song, but that was it--so disrespectful! It made it a bit hard to enjoy the second show, I really wanted to hear My Way but it was drowned by their incessant chatter.

All decorum is gone form places like this. I went to this place to meet someone and have a drink, maybe catch something worth hearing. I walked in and looked for them but did not see them. Within a minute I was being accosted by a lizard faced woman demanding $38.00 for a music charge and a $20.00 drink minimum. I didnt notice any posted signs or notifications regarding this music charge. None that I saw anyway and the website does not say so either. Sorry but its too much to ask to sit a a bar in some dinky club with a bunch of people you know didnt pay the obviously selectively enforced music charge. I know this as a fact. Dont give these horrible people your money. There are better places. This is what happens when someone tries to wring every last cent from a place that simply cannot produce that kind of income.

I recently relocated from the Upper West Side back to the Baltimore/Washington Area, but absolutely loved this place. The food is amazing as always and by far the best that you will get for the price at any Jazz/Supper club. The host were very nice and accomadating, and even accomdated a specific request that I , for the most part, did think was feasible (A+++). The music and accoustics was awesome and to this day, it still feels like neighborhood bar rather than a huge club, which made it amazing. I am probably the Smoke Jazz and Supper clubs biggest ambassador outside of New York City. And with DCs rivals like Blues Alley, This is for me, worth the Trip up I-95 for. Thank You Smokes for never dissapointing me.

ニューヨークで、ジャズライブを楽しむ為に利用しました。市街地から離れているので、観光客が少なく地元の人が多いです。素晴らしいジャズとディナーが手頃な価格で楽しめます。 I used it to enjoy jazz live in New York. Because it is far from the city area, there are few tourists, many locals. You can enjoy wonderful jazz and dinner at an affordable price.

Very cozy, upscale but homey. The jazz was fantastic, heard Helen Sung and with John Ellis, Ruben Rogers and Donald Edwards, fantastic musicianship, and the food was wonderful. The meatball appetizer was delicious, and the pork chop plate was very nice (except for the macaroni and cheese.) The servers were very attentive and did their best to keep everyone happy while not interrupting the performance, which is no small feat in such a tight space. If you want to hear top notch jazz while having a good meal and not have to deal with large crowds, this is the place! Make your reservations early.

Ch-ch-changes... Smoke was one of the best dinner and jazz places in ny but recent changes (ownership? Management?) Have left a definite downward trend. Mandatory $38 min on food only plus $18 for "music" plus whatever you drink (no minimum) are the opening act, reduced play time (roughly one hour of live music), and understaffed service leading to cold food, leaves a taste in your mouth and ears of a money grubbing institution focused on exploiting the brand. Music was good this night, but Ive been here more than 20 times and i see it in the decline. Proceed with caution.

Wonderful food and ebtertainment.... Horrible hosstile rude older white woman at the door. My aunt wa s late getting on to celebrate with us and the wonan at the door wouldnt even let my mother in the door... We have made it clear to everyone we were with that mom didnt stand us up... The horrible lady at the door wouldnt even let her in...Ridiculous and rude ...we will NOT BE CONMING BACK AND I cant believe my mother 63 years old came all the way from Newark and we were there enjoying ourselves.... Would not even let her in the Door...

The "smoke" experience we had tonight revived my belief in the concept of jazz club. An intimate place where you can practically feel the performers and communicate with them. Music was excellent, the food was good, (in any rate beyond the usual expectations from jazz dinner), The service was very good and the value for money was very good too. Certainly not the typical tourist traps with lucrative "big names", pretentious attitude, outrageous prices and uneatable food. Warmly recommended.

We went to this place after reading the good reviews, however it was very overpriced. The music was good and food decent, but we felt shoved out the door as soon as we had eaten. The waiters were lovely but the woman at the front of house was quite rude. Afterwards we found a place just down the road playing great jazz with a fantastic atmosphere with lovely staff for no cost at all. Would highly recommended looking at cheaper and friendlier places close by before going to this place.

Si quieren ir a oir buen jazz en NY, vayan a este lugar. Pequeño, intimo, con un bar bien dotado y una buena comida. Además está ubicado en una zona super especial de NY. La 95 del East. El metro queda cerca y es un lugar bien nice

Great setting with a very cosy feel. The food was good but not brilliant, shrimp and Calamari starter was the best of the courses being tasty and a good portion. The main of chicken was slightly small and overcooked. Dessert was very good but incredibly rich and could have done with having cream or ice cream served with it. The jazz was good and we enjoyed the jam session! Unfortunately from my seat it was hard to see but I probably had the worst seat in there unfortunately!

It was a Great Music, Good Atmosphere, Horrible Food! I had the fried chicken and it had no seasoning, corn bread was dry, and this tomato dipping sauce didnt go with the meal at all, the collard greens was way too sweet. Be ready to spend some $$$$! The venue still charges you for the show, even if you spend over a certain amount on food and beverage. But it was a great VDay, and the Talent is what made my night. Service was also good, and Friendly.

We did not taste the food here (looked like decent bar food), but drinks were ok. Staff was friendly (even turned down the AC when we complained about the low temperature) and music was decent. We wanted to stay for another session, but they asked us to obey the 2 item per person rule again, although the club was not full. It is fair for them to ask, but pushing people like that just make them run away and in the end they make less money.
