When I think back to this company it really leaves a terrible taste in my mouth. So Im writing this review based on an event which took place about a year ago. I purchased 2 Groupon for $155 for a 20 min flight and photos for me and a friend. I carefully scheduled my day to be at the docks on time, as me and my friend were seeing many attractions in the city for the weekend. Manhattan Helicopters cancelled my first reservation with them for no reason. They just told me "It had to be cancelled due to a scheduling." I left customer service my phone number to call me about cancellations, but they didnt. So I wasted my time and money (subway fare) just to be told I couldnt fly that day. I called them multiple times an hour before my SECOND scheduled time to see if my new scheduled time would work, but they kept telling me to call back and they didnt know. I was already annoyed the second time. Wheres the customer service??? Which reminds me... I emailed customer service about the photos and this girl told me that photos were not guaranteed due to safety and time. When I called the director, she gave me another story saying I would get my photos, and to tell someone at the front desk. Guess what? I didnt get my photos. The kid at the front desk had no idea about the package I purchased to fly with this company. No safety procedures AT ALL. No photo was taken at the platform as suggested in the Groupon package. We waited a good two hours before we actually took the flight. Two hours with a reservation... what a joke. Wouldnt recommend them at all but the helicopter trip was ok. Flight was way expensive and not worth it. Anytime I think back I think, WOW what a waste of money and horrible service! After I made a review about how terrible this company was on another review site, I received an email saying "give us a chance to remedy the situation" to make up the poor service. I dont understand this because the company already has my money and I dont plan on ever using them again... what could they possibly do??? Save your money, these guys dont deserve it!

I had booked a tour for two with this company through my hotel the day before. On the day of the flight, President Obama was arriving into New York and so our flight was delayed. When we found the heliport we were approached by a man in a scruffy uniform who asked us if we wanted to a helicopter tour, we said we had a ticket which he asked to see and promptly took it out of our hands, turned his back to us and started whispering to another man who he called over. Neither of these men wore a uniform with "Manhattan helicopters" on it. Instead they had another companys name on, "Zip". At this point we thought we were being robbed by of our ticket so I asked for it back to which we were then asked to follow him into the building and sent to the check-in counter. There we were told that the tour I had purchased the day before was to be cut short by half and that we should have known this (the helicopter was suppose to fly from pier 6 to about 50th street. It was cut to 23rd street due to the president being in town). I asked if we would be offered a discount for this, but the reply was a straight "no". The staff were unprofessional throughout and joking around before and after the flight. The whole experience was hostile and worrying and we completely felt scammed. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. And further more, I would recommend anyone when booking, that this is over priced and not a big "wow".

Flying in the sky of NYC in a helicopter is awesome. No argue. But there are few things to consider. 1. When you buy tickets you pay a huge difference in between 25, 19, and 15 minutes. But you may be in the same boat with people paying less. That means people who buy 15 mins ticket may take a longer ride and 25 mins buyer may have a cut depending on the numbers of passenders (limitted). I was in such a situation today. No Empire State Building view. Put that in mind when youre pulling hair deciding on which one to choose from. 2. If you buy from their website not only do you pay for the original price but also have to pay for the helicopter-port fee ($35). But if you buy vouchers from broker companies such as Groupon you may have a 1/3 price off and no fee. This makes a big cut in the price. 3. You wont have a up close view of the Liberty Statue or any buildings like what they show in their pictures. The flight is quite a straight line back and forth, mainly up the water between Mahattan and Brooklyn. This is quite misleading. 4. There are "tips appreciated" notes in the helicopter itself and the pilot is quite friendly. I felt bad I didnt tip because no one cared to tip and also becaused I felt a little ripped having paid an amount "not small" for the experience. I wish I had tipped the helicopter. His name is Tim and hes young and handsome and nice.

On a winter trip to NYC my parents treated us to a helicopter sightseeing tour. Through luck we ended up on their top tier package, which took us up the west coast of Manhattan and over the Yankee Stadium. It was great to see all the sights and fly over the bridges. If youre thinking about booking a flight the middle option will probably be fine, but the tier one is probably too brief. Either way make sure you get a window seat! Or if youre travelling alone get up with the pilot!

Giro in elicottero stupendo, abbiamo prenotato via email e siamo arrivati anche un po prima dellorario stabilito, ma non ci sono stati problemi, il personale è disponibile e simpatico. Unesperienza un po costosa, ma da provare.

If you really want to see and kind of understand NYC, this is a trip you should take. After so many years in New York, I finally did it, and it is not scary at all, and it is absolutely beautiful. It is not cheap though, but for once in few years it something basally amazing. And if you have guests from out on New York, this is something they will not forget soon, if ever… I still think it is a little expensive, but it doesnt change the fact that it is amazing.

The heliport is efficient and well organised, turn up with your booking and they show you exactly where to go. Youll be put into line, made to watch a safety video and then whisked off in a helicopter for one of the most amazing 15/20/30 minute rides. The views are stunning, the pilots are really friendly and the overall experience is over far too quickly! There are free lockers for your bags, which is also handy.

My wife and I took a tour with Manhattan Helicopters on Valentines day and I have to say that in my 50+ yrs I never had such an awesome flying experience! Everyone was very professional and accommodating despite of us being late, great pilot and amazing views... I would highly recommend this company for their excellent service, the tours may be expensive but theyre WORTH EVERY PENNY. We hope to do it again one day!
