Our experience at the Stone House at Stirling Ridge was nothing short of magical. I remember searching exhaustively for venues in NJ that would provide the type of farm-to-table, rustic glam style I was determined to have for my June 2017 wedding. We knew from the moment we walked in the doors and were offered a gourmet hot chocolate on that brisk April morning in 2016, that those dreams would come true if we choose this Landmark venue. While enjoying a farm fresh brunch at the Stone House restaurant and reviewing the blueprints for the brand new ballroom that would be under construction soon, we decided right then and there--- this will be the spot we will get married. And we did!! After countless emails later, lots of planning with the amazing memory maker Carissa, the most delicious & filling tasting ever AND a trip or 2 up to the Stone House to check on construction- we were ready to enjoy our wedding. Every Stone House employee made us feel loved on that beautiful June day and of course we couldnt have asked for better weather as we wed under the trees surrounded by family & friends (and so much nature!) I had about a million requests ahead of time, and Carissa and her team made sure they all came to life even including watering my little wedding favors the day before to bring them back to life! Everyone raved about the food and just how gorgeous everything was from our ceremony to our cocktail hour to our amazing reception. Words will never describe how grateful we are for such a magical PERFECT day and for that we will always be grateful we made the decision we did in choosing to get married at the Stone House at Stirling Ridge. Thank you for everything, Alyson & Mike 6-24-17

The Stone House is a beautiful facility with good food. HOWEVER, if you are looking for an ounce of customer service – strongly suggest you look elsewhere. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Stone House in fall 2009 and were extremely disappointed with the service. The wedding planner who we spent 7 months with on the wedding details did not show up for the event so there was no one there to manage the ceremony/reception! During the cocktail hour, they never served their "signature wedding champagne cocktail" (which was part of our contract) and there were so few waiters for 150 guests that some guests did not realize food was being served. They also screwed up our table seating, they served the food 45 minutes later than requested, and the wait staff snatched unfinished (and often untouched) food and drink from the tables while guests were still eating/drinking. After the wedding, we sent an email to the planner expressing our dissatisfaction; she said she would investigate and get back to us. She never did. We then sent a polite letter to the owners asking for nothing more than an acknowledgement of our concerns. That was 3 months ago – no response. This is clearly an establishment that has no respect or regard for its customers – so you should think twice before booking your wedding here (we have already steered two couples away from the Stone House and we also stopped dining at their restaurant).

We had been to the Stone House many times for dinner and had a pleasant experience. Therefore we decided to have the wedding at this location due to the food, service and atmosphere. When we went for the tasting it was great. However the night of the wedding, it seemed that they had never catered an affair. The atmosphere was delightful but went downhill after that. The servers were rude and inexperienced, the food was cold and some was actually rancid. It was nothing like the food tasting. I dont know if the facility is not used to having a cocktail reception as they did not manage the lines, there wasnt enough food, the food was cold and undercooked. The seafood paella had unopened clams (out of 10 -6 were not opened) The falafel was rancid, we had to find a place to get rid of it without causing a scene. The maitre d was hard to find afterwards we found him and he was dressed in a suit like all guest therefore not easy to identify. In defense of the Stone House it was 2 weeks after hurricane Sandy however if they were to proceed with the affair they should have ensured that the staff was trained properly and the food presented as it was at the tasting. I woud highly recommend you find a different facility for a cocktail wedding reception.

I spent a most enjoyable evening with co-workers yesterday. From beginning to end, it was such a great experience. A real nice gentleman named Will "entertained" us while we waited for our party - we had some laughs...he was cute. We decided to be seated outside which, aside from the awkwardly uncomfortable chairs, was the only place to be on such a beautiful evening. Serf, our server was more than pleasant - great sense of humor and just all around attentive (as were all the wait staff...amazing)...he had a cute personality too. The food was quite good. Crab cake- yum. Clams- yum. Angry Mussels (a little gritty) but still -yum! Loved my pork, my asparagus was a little gritty too, but it made me feel at home. My pals enjoyed their steaks. and sides. I was thinking the portions (for the $$) were a bit small, but we all left comfortably filled. I had a fab time and would definitely return. Thank you...great service goes a long way.

The renovation rendered this space as beautiful as any glass and stone lodge you could imagine in Vail or Coeur dAlene. Fortunately for all here in Central NJ, the food matches the decor. Seasonal specialties served by a friendly and quick learning staff make it hard to choose your entree. A laid back, but well peopled bar offers a great destination in and of itself, or a terrific starting point for your dining as a couple looking for a romantic get together, or a group of friends gathering to unwind. An extensive wine list offers many choices from reasonable to really expensive. That may be the only point to give pause - while you get wonderful food, service and ambiance, this is not a cheap eats sort of place. In short, turning an axiom around is accurate - you pay for what you get. Fortunately, you dont pay a penny more, and the experience is worth the price. Good Eating - Joe H.

My boyfriend took me here for our anniversary dinner and it was purely magical. Our server, though new, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable; they also surprised us with complimentary dessert and sparkling wine after dinner to celebrate! Only complaints: My BF ordered the chicken, only to be told they just ran out of all chicken (on a Tuesday evening at 7:30). How does one run out of chicken? The fish he got instead was a quite small portion. Luckily my veal porterhouse was huge and we both shared it. Would recommend - so sorry to hear about the poor service from the couple who had the wedding there! We thought the restaurant service was fantastic and the atmosphere beautiful.

We have been coming there for Sunday brunches for the past years. We love the ambience and the atmosphere. To day was the first time that we ordered lunch food and not breakfast food. The chopped salad was a portion of a small side order of salad.it had One tiny spoon of goat cheese (I asked for it instead of blue cheese),and tiny amount of dried chopped chicken, and one small grape tomato, couple very hard grilled asparagus pieces. The dish was an embarrassment ! Shame because we really like to go there with our friends.
