Recently opened to the public, this course is under new management, lead by the owners of apple mount GC in nearby oxford/belvidere. The course conditions are average, with some burnout on the fairways, and some generalized lack of upkeep which isnt surprising given the fact that it just changed hands. However, the Apple Mountain team probably arent the best maintenance group that Ive ever seen so this could be a persistent problem. Hopefully, thats not the case. At the present time, its a good deal and there is no one on the course. Update: Course is destroyed they dont know what theyre doing.

The grounds could use better upkeep and maintenance, but the course design is very nice. Ive eaten there twice, once at the restaurant and once for a banquet, both time I was not impressed. The service was lousy and they could not keep up with the buffet. (There was only about 80 people eating at the most.)

Had a great time playing this course. Very challenging. I understand that the course was just auctioned off and purchased. It definitely needs some tlc. Sand in the traps would be a start. I will be back for sure. The price was right.

Unplayable. No sand in bunkers, filthy golf carts, fairways are not existent. I played this years ago before it went to pot, it used to be an interesting course.
