I made an online tee time for my son and his friend to play on a Saturday in Feb. My son came home and said all tee boxes and greens were temporary, so the conditions were not good and the course played extremely short. As well, the GPS they provided was of no use because of the temporaries. There was no notification on the website when I made the tee time that there were temporary tee boxes and greens. When my son came home and told me everything was temporary, I called the course. They said they would call back. No one called back. I again called the next day, and was told since the boys played the round there would be no refund. She said I should have known that in February there would be temporaries. I told her the boys have been playing at the county courses all winter and there have been no temporaries. And they are kids, they dont know to challenge adults for a reduced rate because of all of the temporaries. The course should offer reduced rates under those conditions without someone needing to ask. Or at the least, when you make the online tee time, it should notify you of the temporaries so you can back out of the reservation if you feel the price is too steep for what amounts to be an executive course with poor conditions. This is the second year in a row weve had an issue with this course and the people at the course caring more about our money than us. I recommend that if youre looking for somewhere to play in Monmouth County, you look at the beautifully-maintained county courses or other private clubs.

Playing in January at this course: The advertised price to play was 25$; what a steal, considering this course is usually $100. We still got ripped off. 1) the greens and tee boxes were taped off. They "created" there own tee boxes and greens off to the side, closer to eachother and on the grass. My team and I were driving to the "green" on par 4s. Putting was very slow considering we played on the grass. 2) we were the only threesome out of the rest of twosomes and very typical they stick a single with us for a foursome..so we had to let 5 twosomes jump ahead of us. They werent even busy! 3) they gave us a tee time for 25$, but charged us an additional 20$ each for the cart. 4) each cart has a gps screen. "Its off for the winter" we were told by the manager. I guess their technology has a seasonal cut off Very cheap golf club. Very dissatisfied with a course like colts neck playing in the winter. I dont write reviews ever but felt it was necessary.

This is the worst course Ive ever played on, and Ive played courses that cost half as much as this place. I have never seen so many divots in my life. Nobody seemed to make an effort to fill them in. I dont know which course "eriklombardo" went to, but when I went it was far from "well manicured and there were no GPS systems on the cart. The only thing I can say that is good about the place is the service. As soon as you pull up to the place, someone comes running (or driving) over to help you with your clubs. Although the two young women at the desk in the pro shop were clearly hired as eye candy rather than knowing anything about golf, or how to work a register for that matter. It was also probably the most poorly designed golf course Ive ever played. Do NOT go to this golf course unless you enjoy wasting your money.

With warm winter weather I had hoped CNGC might be in playable shape since they were charging some of the higher rates around the county. Walked into pro shop and asked, "what the course was like?" No mention of temporary greens and tee boxes, so I decided to pay the $45 Presidents day rate. Call in after playing 2 holes to complain and ask for refund as we didnt know course was temporary greens & tees. Wouldnt negotiate with us, completely unacceptable in my opinion. Wont be back for a mediocre track to begin with, that really over charges come spring summer.

Course is one of the nicest I have played. Played 18 in exactly 4 hours yet was told on numerous occasions to pick up pace by the angry ranger. Cart girl will only serve beer to members of the course and not to public. But overall nice atmosphere.. would play again but bring beer next time.

I couldnt be more excited, and proud to announce as of today I have accepted the position of Head Golf Professional at Colts Neck Golf Club, in Colts Neck, NJ. It is an amazing opportunity for myself, and my family. We feel blessed, and are excited for our family to meet the membership!

Gorgeous course. Only played once. Lost a star because the pace of play was pretty bad. I left early because I ran out of time. Told the pro shop on the way out and they didnt seem to care. Still gets 4 stars and would play again.

Strange course with a lot of par 3s (6). Well-cared for greens and fairways. Stranger still is the beer cart rule: cannot bring beer with you, and cannot buy it at the course unless you are a member.

I travel alot. This is the only course that never lets me down. I played about 8 times in the last 3 years and never putted on a bad green.
