There is a very nice boat launch, but a lot of rude people who dont know how to use it. There should be rules on boat ramp etiquette more clearly The lanes (which are advertised as three, I believe it is two on the east side of the dock and one on the west side) should be more clearly labled. You have people who rope their boat to the dock, and let it float across both lanes of boat launch Not the parks fault, but there should be a big sign stating the rules of etiquette. I have seen fights almost break out at times.

This park has been a gem since it opened years ago, and offers something for everyone: trails for biking, walking and cross-country skiing around Medicine Lake; boat slips, kayaks and canoes for rent; public beaches; many docks; picnic areas equipped with grills; a canteen open in the summer months; a well-equipped visitor center open year-round (where you can get coffee and cocoa after sliding down snow-covered hills or snow-showing the trails); and many nature-based classes; not to mention a huge park that children love.

Gigantic rope style climbing park-must have shoes on kids! Burns tons of energy. Ages 5 to 14 would love it. Also has tiny tot area. Trails are easy to get through will all ages. Free shuttle bus (train on wheels) takes you to the beach for more fun! Enjoy trails around the lake, take a dip, or rent a boat (very affordable at less than $5 per hour!) Your family could spend the whole day here (bring a lunch or leave and return)! Great for family, couples, dog walking, scouting, birthday parties and company picnics.

Beautiful lake. Great trails. Lots of places for events. Has a visitor center, boat rentals, and a few cool playgrounds. It has a beach and even a launch slot of you have your own water craft. 2017-05-18: Edit: The main playground and much of the roads/trails are being revamped. You can still get to the lake, but the key areas will hopefully be completed before summer.

Been a awesome place since I was a kid and love to go there with my son now 30 years later! My only complaint is the fishing dock for much of the summer is in a spot that gets real weedy and unfishable at times and the docks on the actual lake or restricted from fishing. Awesome playground, trails, beach and the shuttle to and from the lake is convenient when running.

Its a beautiful park close to the city with a great beach, playground, boat launch, picnic shelters, shuttle from the parking lot and lovely trails. Its perfect for families. Its more crowded than I like but you can rent a canoe or kayak and enjoy a trip around the lake or through the water Lilies, but please dont pick them.

I was disappointed at first that the park was under construction. Was here to bring my elderly mother out on mothers day. It was hard to find a place to park and the shuttle is not running. And the playground is closed. We did end up having fun regardless. Looking forward to seeing it completed. Thanks for the fun memories

Not bike friendly! Bikes have to stay on pavement. All trails are no bike. Sad because the trails are extra wide and really beautiful. Got yelled at for taking pic of bike by the lake right off the pavement. Loosen up on those trails. Park has tons of walking trails and a fun playground for kids.

Conveniently located near where some friends live, this is our go-to walking spot. Close to bike trails that lead to Minneapolis as well as points west. They have a really nice park HQ and a great playground for the kiddies. Looking forward to walking through here when the leaves turn.

Very nice park and beach with boat access. The park I heard is up for renovation which is good because it was in meed of some work. The nets at the park have seen better days. Other than that this is an amazing park and great to XC ski in winter.

The cargo net playground is amazing and a cherished childhood memory. Unfortunately they are rebuilding it in 2017 so this may be your last chance to enjoy it. I have a feeling the new one will be less amazing due to liability concerns.

Its been a favorite playground and beach and picnic area for generations, but the playground - which is fabulous - will be torn down and replaced next spring. I played and swam here as a kid and now my own children ask to come here.

Clean well kept grounds. Awesome play ground. There are bathrooms and even a snack bar at the playground. They have boats for rent and fishing certain times of the year. Its free to get in and theres plenty of parking.

So much stuff to do. I bring clients there from work, they love it. Only thing that could be fixed is the rope jungle gyn needs an update, more ropes and even a ropes course would be cool.

I really had an awesome time at this lake one of the best so far, I will also add that the trolly is very helpful for navigating this lake. I will go again and again and again! Love it!

It was ok. We had a bbq and we were all ready to take a swim. The lake was filled with seaweed and algae. The floor was literally seaweed and algae. We we0nt to Shady Oak Beach instead.

Its was great I love the walking trails but the playground is closing for 2017 so they can redo it. Mostly because the thing is 30 years old but dont worry it will reopen on 2018

Massive playground for both big and little kids in the summer. The beach and boat launch are on the south end. This park has a great sledding hill and miles of trails and paths.

Parking is a little tight at the moment due to construction. However the fact that they provide a shuttle makes up for it! Great beach and picnic areas.

Their playground is ropes and plenty of spots to sit and watch the kiddos. Bathrooms are nice and open to public. Love the walking paths too.
