The golf course and layout are great. Feels like old style traditional layout and seemed to be well maintained. The pace of play however, is far from great. Being the second group off at 6:40 am one would think you could get a fast round in before a meeting or planned event, NOT at this place. Split tee times that are stacked way too close together leaves you making the turn to find out that you have 3 groups ahead of you that need to start their round on #10, so your stuck waiting for over 30 minutes to have what would be a 4 hour round or less at any other course when teeing off that early, turn into a 5 hour round of golf. Then when you realize you dont want to wait for 3 groups to tee off before you can make the turn you go inside to get a refund to walk in on the starter and the maintenance man all talking about you behind your back. CLASSY GUYS! Im 32 years old and we have 60+ year old men making jokes about how 2 respectful golfers just didnt have time to wait behind 3 groups that the course stacked in front of them. Would never go back to a place where a round takes over 5 hours for the second group out in the morning and to have some pompous old men snickering about how you dont want to sit behind that. If we were rude I could see that it would be a topic of conversation, but we were polite and told the starter that we have somewhere to be and cannot continue the round knowing you have a 3+ hour back nine ahead of you. Word of advice is if your going to do split tees, plan better, spread tee times out a few more minutes, let the customers know your doing this and dont make fun of your paying customers because you never know when they will walk into your conversation and hear you talking about them to others.

I would rate the staff lower, but the rating was not available. I love getting out to relax to play golf and think the course is a good buy for the money. I played early Saturday morning and we completed our 9-holes in 2 min. over pace, and the final round in 4:15. Our final round was completed in 5 minutes under course pace. Despite our round completion and posted pace time completion we had a gallery of rangers telling us to "keep pace." They were rude and ruined the first nice golf day of the year. Even after bringing it to the clubs attention they were rude and said we needed to play quicker. The rangers were morons and made it difficult to enjoy our round. If you like quick rushed golf and pesky annoying rangers this is the spot for you...

I have been a member for several years now, and wouldnt come back if the value was not good. The Brookview Mens Golf Association is one of the best mens league in the metro, with a couple of hundred members. In 12 and 13 the league was over-full by mid-march. The course itself has been undergoing changes in the past few years with improved bunkers, and improved and new tee boxes. As of May 2015 : They now allow the use of all clubs on the Driving Range

Average golf course for someone looking to enjoy a round of golf. Enough water hazards to make it interesting. There is a par 3 course which my wife enjoys playing. Early morning and twilight specials. Great staff and welcoming atmosphere. This course is eight minutes from my house so I play here a lot.

They say online the range is open til 8 so Im here right now at 730 and guess what? Theyre closed. They even took away the automatic dispenser so the exact change I got by making an extra stop at the gas station was a giant waste of time. The course is okay but for a similar price you can do much better

Course is overplayed and way over regulated. If you enjoy golf for its relaxing and care free qualities, this is not the course for you. Unfriendly staff, boring course, over priced. 3.2 beer doesnt help their cause either. Look elsewhere!

Pros: Well staffed and a very easy course for a confidence boost Cons: Not worth $52.00, Incredibly slow pace with multiple kids on the course, really bad club house food, and the course looked untouched after the winter.

As far as public courses go, its tough to beat Brookview inside the 494/694 loop. While water can become an issue in the spring and the sand traps are like gravel, the course is excellently laid out and maintained.

The greens are in decent shape, but the rest of the course is junk. Construction aside, the manager should be flogged. Ive been playing Brookview for 40 years and never seen it so poorly kept.

Tight fairways, few short par 4s, best fast greens in all of Metro Twin Cities. Only weather damaged and impacted hole is No. 14. Definately one of the better city courses.

Nice course. I hadnt visited for a while and just went back recently (June 2016). They have a nice lawn bowling area and some good early morning specials for walkers.

Narrow fairways, nice big greens. Will be back again to play on my own instead of a 4 person bestball. Not to long but if u miss the fairway the rough is pretty thick

Fairways are in great condition. Too bad people dont fix their ball marks on the greens. Fun challenging course. Sunset rate is great but often can be a slow pace

I had a great time golfing the par 3. Great little golf course conveniently located in the Twin Cities. Was able to book a tee time online, show up and golf.

New clubhouse still under construction, its a bit inconvenience around 1st & 10th holes and temp practice green, otherwise, the course is in good shape.

An average golf course. Good amount of sand traps and water hazards. Not too much in the way of incline. Easy to get to if you live near downtown.

Staff is rude and they pair you with other golfers you dont know if its too "busy". Furthermore, its over priced for the quality of the course.

The winter discgolf course is designed well. With decent elevation and open fairways. A lot of ace runs too! 16 reachable holes.
