Horrible experience. We reserved a space at the winery for a bridal shower and when we arrived, there was a party of 150 people in the space that we had reserved. The woman that we had spoken to was setting us up in another room... the kitchen, where there was no space for our group of 10 people. We had to stand in the dirty kitchen for 30-40 minutes. Meanwhile, the staff kept coming back into the kitchen space and rudely telling us to move out of the way. We literally had no other space to go. She told us that our other option was to stand outside in the cold and wind. We had small children with us, so this was unacceptable. The group that was in our space was supposed to leave at 5:00 and we were supposed to be able to move into our space at 5:00. We were not seated until 5:30. At that time, we were shoved into a corner of shopping space where our group was cramped and kept getting bumped by shoppers trying to buy things on the shelves directly behind us. At around 7:30, the staff began to put chairs up on the tables so we asked what time they closed. They told us, "We close at eight but we start cleaning up before that so we will need you to leave in about ten minutes." Wow. So they allowed the other group to stay well into our reserved time (they did not leave until around 7:00), but we were asked to wait in a crowded, filthy kitchen for a half an hour AFTER our scheduled reservation time, AND we were told to leave early. I have worked in the hospitality/restaurant business and have NEVER told guests to leave before closing time. In fact, we were never even allowed to begin cleaning until after closing time. To top it off, one of the workers began to move our gifts without our permission. This was not her property to touch in the first place, and she was trying to take the gifts to the kitchen in the back. For what reason exactly? Not sure, but it was odd and they should not have been touching our things. Extremely unprofessional staff and I will be reporting them to the BBB, as I am certain they were breaking several violations. There is no way that their tiny space can fit 150 people and I am certain that shoving guests into the filthy kitchen is also a violation.

Would not go back. The place is beautiful and we were greeted by two beautiful dogs which we thought was cute so we were so excited to go in. Once in we were glared at by the older woman behind the bar, she did not want to answer questions, she was very rude, short and abrasive. I really dont know what her problem was except maybe she did not want to be there that day. The bar itself is very small and can really only fit about 3 groups of 2 or 3 so we went and sat at a table. When we would go back up to the bar the rude lady would ignore us even though we had been there and already paid. Felt like we had to beg to get the next pour on the list. I purchased one bottle of wine and two vinegars and she just threw them in a bag all clanking together so I asked her if she had a napkin or some thing to wrap them in so they would not break and you would have thought I asked for the world. Such anger! Over wrapping glass bottles? Isnt that standard operating procedure? Its such a beautiful place but when the staff is so nasty it really takes away from the beauty. We just wanted to get out of there. We went down the road to Buffalo Rock winery and had a wonderful experience and bought more items there. We just would not go back to Woodland Hills. No thank you. Too many other winerys in the area so no need to go here and be treated badly.

If the wine wasnt so tasty..... This score would be a lot lower. We had a wine tasting scheduled for months at 11:15. At 12 the someone came and unlocked the gate. He seemed irritated by our presence, a bus of 40 people, thirsty, and waiting for 45 mins. After telling us we to early, we let him know we had a reservation. He told us we were wrong.... And at that point we didnt feel like fighting about something so dumb. One of the members in our group had the wine passport for Minnesota wineries. Even though she had bought this Six months ago he said it was the years old and expired. After five minutes of trying to prove to that this was the 15-16 book, and him talking down to us like we were trying to pull something over on him, his wife came over and showed him it was the correct book, and we could use it. The wine and grounds were fantastic. However, I would suggest going after 1. Hopefully this was just our groups experience.

Poor customer service! Attended a wedding a couple of years ago and had a great time, so much so we decided to have ours there as well. This is where it all goes down hill, the owners pulled prices out of thin air that changed on a whim. No set pricing on anything, no communication, no willingness to work with us. After 7 meetings we we"re finally given a final price that was expected within under a month. Day of wedding the owners were unpleasant, rude and over bearing. I shouldnt have to argue on my day, they should be accommodating for the $ they charge! I could fill this entire page with my issues but bottom line if I had more time prior we would have had our reception elsewhere. Save money and frustrations. Go somewhere else!

Kids were at the Grandparents and my wife and I were looking for an evening activity on our anniversary weekend. We live in Delano but had never tried Woodland Hills. It was great. We enjoyed a low key tasting and long chat with the owner (the service was great btw, despite other reviews to the contrary from all the Groupon whiners), opened a bottle and went for a walk through the vineyard; pet the dog, darred each other to touch the electric fence, joked about renewing our vows there, and headed back to the tasting room to buy a few more bottles and head home. The grounds are beautiful; corn fields all around. Highly reccomended.

I bought a GROUPON for this winery. It had expired, but the groupon stated that the paid value never expires. The merchant would not accept the paid value of this and refused to provide us with the $37.00 paid value. ( I understood that I would not be given the groupon value, but the paid value should have been honored) We were given a $5.00 wine tasting and a $7.00 glass of wine; that is all. I will not be going back to this winery. The merchant was rude when I questioned why this would not be honored. I left without buying any products or wine.

I have experienced Woodland Hill Winery on several occasions for special events and also for the wine tasting. The setting is so beautiful and perfect for special events. The staff is knowledgeable, warm and friendly and made the visit so enjoyable !! I love the addition of the oil and vinegar bar, I was so excited to try the array of of favors and learn about how to create combinations and to use them with preparing different foods. "a free mini cooking class". I would recommend Woodland Hill for your next special event or for just a fun time out.
