I have lived in Forest Lake for nearly two years and have often attended the Sunday brunch here. I enjoyed all aspects of the brunch and especially the crepe station. This last Sunday I went with my wife and 19 month old son for the brunch. They have changed to a more traditional ordered meal instead of the buffet style, I could only assume starting this week. The menu looked enticing and we ordered pancakes for my child, Lemon Marscapone pancakes for me and my wife ordered eggs benedict. While waiting for our food the brought out a decent portion of pull apart bread which my son ate most of and it was delicious. Unfortunately this is where the food for us stopped. During our 45 minute wait (after which we left without our food) we witnessed at least two tables get the wrong orders. One of the waitresses begged her manager to go speak to a table that was having issues and he refused to like the coward that he is. She eventually stormed into the kitchen and never returned. I could only assume she quit and understandably so. Our waitress, who we have had before and absolutely adore, was obviously rattled and pressured by the situation. She came back after to our table after 35 minutes and asked if Rachel had talked to us yet? Not sure who Rachel is but apparently she was suppose to explain to us that there was no "pancake" button on the machine so all pancakes were coming out Lemon Marscapone. She apologized again for the inconvenience and returned to the kitchen. Meanwhile the manager instead of attempting to speak to the waitress who quit or the table who she asked for him to speak to grabbed another waitress from the bar and told her she was in charge of the first ladies area. Some management skills buddy. You were unable to properly prepare the first ladies to handle the situation, so the answer is to get another person, who likely had no training, and throw her into the fire? Once again a cowardly move. Eventually after 45 minutes and 20 of which my son was hungry and fussy and eventually fell asleep on my lap we asked the waitress for the ticket for our drinks and decided to leave. She did the right thing and refused to allow us to pay for the drinks and again apologized for the issues. Im not sure why they had to ruin a good thing they had going with their brunch for this disaster, but I know that they lost a few customers that day, and more than just us. As I was carrying my child to our vehicle another table that had received their food (apparently incorrect food) also got up and left. If you guys actually read your reviews please find a new manager for the dining area or get him better trained and fix the "New Brunch" fiasco. I already miss your brunch that you had before and will not return until these issues are corrected. Even then it will take a leap of faith to get me to come back.

Restaurant and Casino review are the same 2 stars: Card room Review: Its a card room all in all. However, their policies seem to change from manager to manager or month to month, i.e. cell phones not allowed on tables, then allowed by not on. A lot of the cards have marks on them (dents). I was told its their card machine, however a couple of decks I noticed it was the aces that were marked. When asking for a new deck due to the marks, the response has always been "every deck have marks on them". Theyre dealers are a mix of jovial and polite to downright rude and inconsistent with their dealing responsibilities, however since this isnt different from any other casino so I will not factor this is in for the review. Restaurant: The grill (not sure if theyre cooked by different people) is actually not bad and somewhat reasonably priced. However, both times my wife and I have had a sit down meal (2 times) we have gotten poor meals (especially their specials, i.e. corn beef and cabbage). Almost to the point its not edible. I go back for only select poker events, and dont play on the money games since the cards are all marked and their policies dont jive with what I see as possible means of techy marking. I will only order off the grille.

For me, Serivce is probally alittle more important than quality. This is why our first visit will be our only vistit. It took 10 minutes for someone to seat us because the host was nowhere to be found. Then it took 20 minutes for our server to acctually show up. I had to go to the bar to get my own 2nd bottle of beer even after our server saw the empty bottle on the edge of the table. I had to ask our server if they even had any specials. When the food showed up I had to ask her for the basket of bread everyone else already had. Never came to see how things were. My wife really liked her shrimp meal and my alfrado was alright (it was a big portion though). We were never asked if we even wanted desert. We ended up going to a place in Wyoming for pie and coffee. This is the 1st review I have ever written because after spending $65 dollars on 2 meals on Valentines day, I guess I expected at least a little service. (If I would of had excepionally good service I would of taken the time to write a good review too)

Overall my family had a fun day at the track watching the horses. The Running Aces horse races are a lot of fun for everyone. We started out though with a poor dining experience in the bar area. We should have made dinning room reservations in advance because we have had good meals in years past in the dinning room but this year we could not get into the main dinning room. So this time we tried eating in the bar area. We have also had better experiences at Luckys outside in years past. All of the servers were working hard running around serving their tables but the service was slow and the food was not the quality we were expecting. The pot roast was fatty, the tacos had little meat and flavor, the Buffalo Chicken salad and pizza also tasted like frozen dishes warmed up in the microwave. I recommend reserving a table outside near the building in advance of your arrival, luckily we were able to get one using the stand by list. It worked very well for our party of 9.

I went there to play poker and the table I sat at was so filthy it gave me chills. A 1x1 ft area was pure black I normally dont get grossed out...but that is solid germs..and now I feel sick a couple days after. I asked for a table change and they did not give it to me. They also had a $10hr for playing ...they stole at least 12 hrs from me and of course I couldnt prove it. Also I had a dealer that was so rude to me cuz I spaced off for 1 second after 4 hrs of playing with no delay. No wonder his tip tray sounded like it had 1 chip in it. Even the dealers that sat down joked about how dirty the table was...I didnt think it was funny but a health hazard. I wish I could upload the picture I took of it....
