As a DJ, I have seen a lot of wedding reception venues and have worked with various staff members. The Rotunda at Laketown Golf is simply spectacular to look at - its a very different place which accommodates a reception well. The layout is a bit odd, but not necessarily in a negative way, and the circular room allows for unique decorations and an overall unique experience. Having the Head Table with all the other tables worked well, but myself and my table were on the stage across the room. I was constantly running across the room to interact with the wedding party and master/mistress of ceremonies. This isnt necessarily a negative, as Im different from most DJs in I take on a lot of MC duties throughout the reception so Im naturally moving around a lot more. More wedding guests would be better in the Rotunda, as the acoustics can be a little echoy and tinny and sound was a bit hard to manage in the large space with extremely high ceiling. Its like being in a big metal barn - sound didnt like it. I started out very pleased by the service of the Laketown staff - I received a call the day before letting me know when I could load in and start setup, and after the event I expressed concerns through a review and they called me to get feedback and to see where I thought they could improve - very impressed by their communication and a reason I am editing this review to better reflect that. I do still want to make mention that I felt the staff was a bit rude and disrespectful to me and other guests at first, but seeing the moves they took to smooth over our relationship really says a lot about their customer and vendor concern. The Rotunda is an excellent looking reception venue, especially for a winter/Christmas-time wedding, but the acoustical quality make it hard for me to recommend this as a preferred venue for parties under 200 people.

Ginger is amazing! Any request we had she made it happen, even if she couldnt do it she found an alternative for our request (she even would allow our dog in the wedding). Brides room and grooms man room are amazing. You feel like you are a friend to Ginger, shes always warm and friendly and she will even contact you just to see how you are doing. Ginger does anything and everything in her power to make sure the day runs smooth. If your looking for a place that just isnt after your money, but truly wants your day to be a day to remember - this place and ginger is the way to go.

Laketown Conference Center is great venue for a wedding ceremony and the reception. As a wedding officiate I am there often. The area for the ceremonies is in the back. It is secluded and beautifully landscaped. The arbor is large and attractive. After the guest have been seated, the wedding party approaches from behind the shrubs - a very good approach. The reception hall is also very attractive with a large dance floor. There is plenty of parking and its very easy to get to from Chicago or Grand Rapids.

Came here for a wedding and a few of us were really impressed by the venue. All the windows really bring in a feel for the nature surrounding the building.
