Golf course looking great. Road by the golf course today and my gosh it looks great. Course is back in great shape thanks to John Bell and his amazing dedication. Few people can turn a real PGA course around like hes done. If your a real golfer youll appreciate and understand the beauty of a Byron Nelson designed course that can test even the most talented. For a real challenge tee it up from the back. Most courses arent built with PGA aspirations. This one was and while it went through some tuf years its back close to being in flawless shape. If your wanting to play a great round of golf on a real course like the ones you see tour players playing on Sunday you should give it a try or if you played it in the last ten years you owe it to yourself to play it again now that its close to being in perfect shape. Over the years the course has hosted numerous professional and collegiate events, such as the Southeast Intercollegiate Championship, SEC College Championships, and Senior PGA tournaments. From Nicklas to the late great Payne Stewart this course has been admired, tested and appreciated by many legends of the game.

Played this course on 5/12/13 and it is horrible. Greens are full of complete dead spots. If it is green in the fairway it is a weed growing. Bermuda is still dormant/dead and just not very thick. Tee boxes are decent on most holes. You can forget about getting a good putt though. New owner just took over about a month ago (so I was told) and is supposedly going to fix it back up. He has work to do. Only cost $30 but its worth another $15 to go somewhere that you can actually take a divot out of grass and not dirt.

If you played Cottonwood more than 6 months ago and were not impressed, your criticism is probably accurate. However, as one reviewer noted, John Bell is one of the best there is when it comes to grass! I encourage anyone who had a bad experience to revisit Cottonwood. What John has done with the course is nothing short of remarkable. Cottonwood is one of the best "layouts" in Montgomery and is now in better shape than any public course in Montgomery.

Played this course on 9/5/2010. Not impressed at all as the course wasnt in the best shape. Greens were okay, fairways were less than desirable, definitely not worth $42.00. With RTJ Capitol Hill only a few miles from Montgomery, your better off paying the additional money to play on some well manicured golf courses.

This is basically just an old country course. Its really nothing special except, but the staff is ultra friendly. The club members are welcoming. Would highly reccommend

Decent course. Nothing special...kind of on the pricey side. I would have rated a 4, but no military discount.
