One of the best places to take a walk (romantic or otherwise) in town. Starting off the Geddes entrance you get an amazing view of North Campus. They have a plethora of unique and interesting plant life, the path to the hospital near the Ronald Mcdonald house has amazing flowers. Down the hill you get a lovely spot near the huron river and great open spaces. Nice all seasons (although occasionally wet), students abound in the summer doing crazy things from ultimate frisbee to playing the guitar from up in a tree. UofM has a group that does Shakespeare in the park during the summer. Its also adjacent to the Furstenberg and Gallop park and recreation areas. Great running paths for runners of all types as well.

This such a beautiful place to walk, run, sit on the many benches, or take your own picnic mat & relax. Its not too big of a nature area, but its a decent size. There is a peony flower garden surrounded by benches that is one of my favorite places to visit in May & early June (when the peonies are in full bloom). For those of you who like to run, there is a Run for the Arb 5k every year in the fall. There are so many little spots deep in the woods that you will discover only if you take those little narrow trails that might seem to take you no where, will pleasantly surprised you.

Gorgeous place to run. So many trails you can take and lovely things to see. I came out here to my boyfriends hometown and he told me to run at the arboretum. I love running and I enjoy sightseeing- this place will give you both. An hour went by so quickly. They even have stairs which is what I did and is a great leg workout! However, dont forget that however far you go, you still have to go back. I forgot that part and to say the least, I came back drenched and tired. If you dont want to go for a run, just a place to walk and talk or sit and relax.. This place is the spot!

The Arb is my favorite nature area to check out in Ann Arbor. Its great to sit by the river or play ultimate frisbee in the big grassy area. Beautiful place for a picnic or swimming in the summer! (Make sure not to be caught there after sundown after its closed or you can get a ticket for $100 for trespassing)

Ran through here every day for a month and loved it. Theres so many trails you can get lost on. Not too lost since they really arent that long. Just enough to go around in circles for a few hours and not even realize it. This place is great to work out, go for a run/walk, read a book or do photography.

I cant say enough good things about the arb! Its a pretty big arboretum with varying hills, meadows, and trees. Plenty of space for picnicking, playing sports, or hiking/jogging. There are also plenty of events year round (Shakespeare in the Arb, Peonies Garden bloom, etc).

A great well maintained place with a lot of trails. Trails go alongside the river letting you forget about the noise, pollution and feel of you are in center of the city. Also hosts beautiful peony garden, visitor center and a pet friendly environment close to bus-stop.

As a local townie I always grew up in and around the Arb, but I didnt fully appreciate it until I moved away and missed all of the green and the river background noise. Year-round it is a gorgeous place and the peony collection this summer is astounding.

You can get lost in Nichols for quite some time. Its a great escape from down town Ann Arbor. Connects to the River, the train track, and is near the Cemetery. There is an amphitheater located in the arb if youre lucky enough to stumble across it!

I love this arboretum. It has great trails through the whole huge expanse. You can end up walking for hours and still not cross the same area. They also have a lot of flat areas for picnics and theres places along the river to put in your boat

A beautiful and serene "park", the Arb is a great place to walk, run and explore. The plants and trees are well cared for and there are some great views. Deer and other wildlife are unafraid of human contact and will often linger nearby.

This is a wooded area off the Hill Neighborhood of the UMich campus. There are several trails one can walk around as well as a peony garden. It is a nice place for a walk or a run. There are also trails besides the Huron River.

Acres of lovely green space, rolling hills, varieties of wildlife, fabulous peony show in Spring, a place to get away in the middle of the day. Large variety of trees, flowers, very peaceful. Much more as well.

Parking was terrible, many tow away zones, and construction crews taking up all the normal parking spots. The park itself was is great, worthy of 5 stars. But I gave it 4 stars because of the parking

Beautiful park that runs along the river with various spots where you can wander into the river. Some larger trees for those interested in tree spotting. Big open field area near the back of the park.

I went there for a nice walk. I walked in thinking why isnt this called The Ann Arboretum? Thats all I thought about, so I didnt enjoy the nature. Didnt even realize I was in it. So Sad.

I love spending time here and just taking in all of the bounty nature has to offer. Theres diagrams and signs everywhere so you know what species youre looking at and where youre going.

Fabulous place in Ann Arbor to spend amazing times when you visit the campus of U of Michigan. It is nice place for jogging. Parking is available very close at the hospital parking.

World class park tucked away right next to the hospital complex. A variety of terrain, fields to hills. Gorgeous views make it easy to forget youre right next to civilization.

Such a beautiful place. In spring wonderful varieties of blossoming flowers and shrubs. But great throughout any season for walking. Lots of varied and interesting terrains.

Beautiful place to relaxedly walk around and dip your feet in the Huron river or take a nap under a tree. Now is the peony season, so it is more beautiful than ever.

Beautifully managed forest trail, unique peony gardens and some rare vertical landscape in Michigan. Metered street parking has dwindled to zero, which is a shame.

Great place to spend time on a summer day, lots of open fields to play around in plus the river runs through it so when its high enough floating is great.

Beautiful place, so much to do: jog, walk, hike, hammock. Next to the Huron river where one can tube, fish, or kayak. Its peaceful enough for yoga too !

Ive spent hours and hours relaxing, running, slacklining, etc. and the Arb never gets old, especially when the sun comes out and warms the open spaces.
