PROS: What a great way to see a performance, generally speaking, on a nice summer evening. Youre outdoors, but if it does rain, youre dry. Humidity may be an issue, but hey, its summer. A little sweat wont kill you. Check the forecast before you go, and dress accordingly. Even in the last row you have an excellent view of the stage. The sound quality, of course, is very dependent on the equipment of the performer(s), but it wont be degraded by distance. Youre close no matter where you sit. SSMC has an excellent selection of concessions, including some of the best soft serve ice cream Ive ever had. CONS: Unfortunately, many people are unfamiliar with live performance etiquette, and the staff at SSMC seems reluctant to enforce it. Arriving at your seat after the performance has begun, and standing during the performance is unfortunately tolerated here. Also, if you cannot stand the smell of cigarette or cigar smoke, you may have a problem here. I think its fine that SSMC provides a smoking area for its patrons, but its too close to the tent, and depending on what section you are in, the smell could really put a damper on your evening. Remember that this is an "in-the-round" venue, which means that the stage rotates. Although you are close to the stage no matter where you sit, you will see much of the show from the sides and from behind. Some may find that annoying. I kinda like it. Overall, taking in a show at the South Shore Music Circus is a great way to spend a summer evening. I highly recommend it.

I was at last night concert starring Lee Brice. He was absolutely fabulous with a amazing band. He was full of personality and he tried to get around the stage during each song to be face to face with everyone even going up several aisle to sing next to fans and let people take pictures of him. He was humble enough to praise his band and show off each musicians skills and they were all unbelievable, each and every one. He received the news that the song he wrote for his wife "I dont dance had just become number one in the country. He has had other number ones which were wonderful but you could tell how emotional he was as he written the song hismself. He is an extremely talented singer, songwriter and an artist giving his all. He has also written other hits for a lot of famous artists among them Garth Brooks "More than a memory and Tim McGraws Still, which are totally different types of songs which make him very varietal. The songs he chooses to record are also very varietal. I came from central MA which is quite a drive but it was well worth the drive. I would come again if he chooses to return. Tonight he is in the line-up for Luke Bryans concert down at Gillette so people probably wont get to hear as many of his songs as we did and it is their loss. Good luck Mr. Brice with your career and new marriage. Very sincerely, Patty Duey Templeton MA

The Musical experience: If you are expecting to hear a Band in all its glory, you will be seriously disappointed. The Round stage / speaker setup simply doesnt allow for proper musical playback experience, and in fact results in an absolutely terrible one. We went to see KebMo (and TajMahal). We recently saw KebMo with Bonnie Raitt and yet another time/venue along with Robert Cray. At both of those other venues we experience KebMo in all his glory. Each was in what one would consider a Small Stage and Small Venue playback (so not intimate Jazz Club, but quite nice). More importantly the Sound Stage, i.e.. The Music / Band, was presented in a realistic and Live listening experience, just the reason one goes to Live Concerts in the first place. The South Shore Music Circus venue / setup however presented what can only be best described as a down mixed mono presentation for which much (if not most) of the Live performance presentation was lost. A very nice venue and Im sure events suited for the venue are fine / more than fine even (for as I stated, nice venue and nicely run). BUT dont for a second think that you are going to hear KebMo (or any Band) in a glorious LIVE Performance, for I can assure you are not!!!

There is no really bad seat, and the sound is great. Small venue, and leaving at the end of a concert is not too painful. Ive enjoyed all the concerts Ive seen. Now if only the audience was more considerate and would stop constantly getting up and down to get drinks and then go to the rest rooms. Its rude to the performers and is distracting and disrupting to the other patrons. And these audiences are not kids. They should know better. If one must drink and pee constantly, get a seat in the back row. I took a star off because this really got in the way of an otherwise great concert I just went to.

Great place to see concerts when you have the time, no such thing as a bad seat!. The stage rotates so no matter where you sit you get to get a look at the performer. Staff is very polite and I would definitely go there again, the only downside (like every concert you go to) is traffic, but since its such a small place there isnt much of it! If someone you like is playing there I would highly recommend you attending! Its so worth the drive, even coming from Boston!

Horrible experience seeing a childrens play this summer. The acting and show would have been wonderful despite the heat and LACK of proper ventilation! Are you kidding? Where are the fans or misting battery fans for children, grandpaernt, caregivers, parents? A "free" paper fan IF you purchased merchandise. Never again!

What a great place for entertainment. Crew is disconnected from patrons, and service lacks informality, but the place is clean, with good selection of drinks.

Great little music venue though it is very uncomfortable in hot, muggy weather. Getting out of the parking lot after a concert is a pain, though.
