As you must know, the statue isnt really of John Harvard, but its pretty popular. Most tourists touch the toe of the statues boot which has caused it to be bright and shiny. Thats done for luck. My daughter touched it a year ago and now as a High School student shes managed to get to their summer program with some fundraising and some scholarship money. Its a must see at Harvard. Lots of history.

While this statue might seem overhyped and isnt actually of John Harvard you might as well visit it and take a selfie when youre visiting the world famous Harvard University. A continual stream of tourists stop by it on a daily basis.

Harvards art is an endearing mishmash. While not as consistently architecturally pretty as Yale, the campus has a large amount of beauty and historical significance squirreled away into pockets throughout the campus.
