Went to see John Prine at the Shubert and I have to say its the worst theater in Boston. Sat in the balcony and the rows are so tight anyone of moderate height will have less space than in economy on modern airplanes. Im 56" and I was squished. The gentlemans knees behind us kept hitting my wifes head. Also, dont expect to get a bottle of water during the show. I went to the concessions about half way through the show and was told quite rudely "the bar is closed". When I stated that I was not drinking beer and merely wanted a bottle of water I was told "we have no water". I pointed out the bottles of Polar seltzer in the fridge behind them. The two concession agents then told me it was the artists request to shut down concessions. I dont believe that for a minute. Maybe John Prine asked them to stop serving beer? That makes sense. I hadnt had ONE drink that evening and merely wanted to drink some water. If your favorite artist comes to town and you have to go to a show here beware. My advice is skip this venue and drive outside the city to see whoever youre interested in. There are plenty of other great venues in New England.

Its an elegant setting and the staff is top class. As a bigger girl with really long legs, some of the old theater seats can be torturous, so Im always hesitant to go but I love the theater so periodically I take a chance. I had the problem at the Shubert. They were kind and moved me to a chair section which solved my knees hitting the chair in front of me but the armed chairs were too narrow for my thighs. They were kind enough to bring me a chair without arms to make me more comfortable. Awesome customer service.

Nice theater. For some reason, they wouldnt allow us to sit at our seats until 20 minutes before the start of the show so we had to stand around waiting for 40 minutes after doors opened. Not the best experience because rally wasnt anything to do in the lobby.

The Shubert is a beautiful theater in the Theater district of Boston. They have a wide range of shows in a more intimate setting than the Wang theater. I have seen many excellent performances at this location.

I was in the nosebleed seats (tucked back under the balcony) to see Esperanza Spalding. I could see well, the sound was clear, and my seat was comfortable. The staff could not have been more helpful.

Beautiful theatre, excellent productions, not a bad seat in the house. Wish they had more local shows here regularly! Its not a huge theatre, which is great, and the location couldnt be better.

When a great intimate theater to see a show in. The seats are comfortable in the historic theater. Acoustics are above the average. Recently saw the 20th anniversary tour of RENT here.

Seats are not the most comfortable to sit in as someone who generally needs extra leg room due to my height, but the theater is beautiful and well laid-out.

Nice smallish theater. Great sight lines. Excellent place to catch a show. Very close to Chinatown, were there are some very good pre-show meal options.

Very good view from the Mezz, chairs are a bit larger than some other theaters. Staff is quite slow at getting folks in. Water is $4. Few bathrooms.

Absolutely no parking or valet service close to the theater. Looks very old, but the acoustics is much better than other venues in Boston.

Beautiful old theater. Be prepared to not fit if you have long legs, but even the balcony seats have good views. Sound was excellent.

Lovely old theater with updates to facilitate a very modern show. Saw Roodolph and I loved the use or digital projection and lift cables.

Cozy and tight venue with little legroom in the nosebleeds. Every seat has a decent view but highly recommend floor seats.

This theater is one of the oldest and smallest in Boston. Best part is that no matter where you sit youre close enough
