This course is challenging but it also rewards good shots. Seems to be well taken care of for the most part. It can often be crowded. During my last visit, there were three groups waiting to tee off. My group had a tee time. I cant speak for the others, but it seems odd the staff would send multiple groups out at the same time. Surely we didnt all have the same tee time. This bunch up made for extremely slow and unpleasant play. The staff has always been friendly and informative, which was why it was such a surprise to have the experience I did. Otherwise, the course is satisfactory. The practice range is laughable as there is a net around it so you cant tell how well and in what direction youre hitting. There is plenty of parking away from the chance of a stray ball knocking out your window. I would probably return despite all the issues because its affordable and within decent driving distance of my home. Also, if you book you tee time online, its quite a bit cheaper.

It is what it is ... a local course thats close to home and easy to get on. But the weekend and twilight prices dont match the quality of course. Its not a "4 or 5 Star" course, not sure where those reviewers play that this ranks that high... If Patuxent is a 4/5 star course what is Worthington Manor? Waverly Woods? or Whiskey Creek? I really like Cross Creek alot more for layout, more elevation changes and greens. Aside from hole 14 its hands down better local course. Patuxent has always had rough Poa greens, bare spots in the fairway and slow play with sometimey marshalls... not 4 or more stars

Decent price for 18 but it can get very wet when there has been even a small amount of rain. The course is generally in ok condition, never played it when the grounds were considered in great condition.

Course is well maintained for a public course but the design tries too hard to be challenging. The doglegs just become annoying after a while. Good value overall though.

I was there for a wedding wasnt wowed by the country clubhouse but the staff is so nice and polite.
