I have so many great memories of this amusement park. Every year, our family comes to Old Orchard for a week, once or twice even more. Its a long drive but its worth it. We live in Rhode Island. When we get to Old Orchard, it seems like everybody is happier. Weve been going to Palace Playland for about 9 years. This summer its going to be ten. This means, Ive been coming since I was four years old. The rides are so much fun. I have gotten stuck on the Power Surge before but after a few minutes everyone gets down safely. It only stops when the ride is slightly up. Never have I ever been stopped when the ride is halfway through or anything. I have seen reviews that the staff here are rude, but, no way! I even befriended one of the staff and we gave each other high fives! One year, my mother told me that the man running the Galaxi Coaster was cute. I told him! Hehe. The fireworks are breathtaking! Especially on July 4th. My little cousins and I love to roleplay Sonic The Hedgehog here, pretending that certain rides are certain places, for example the funhouse is Eggmans base, and so on. Even though Im thirteen, I love it so much. Ive had so many good memories here in Palace Playland. 5 stars all the way! When I get older, I for sure am taking my kids here.

I have been coming here my entire life (24 years). As a kid, this is what I looked forward to each and every summer. Family tradition was born here. Each year isnt complete unless I have ridden the "cat" on the merry-go-round. Prices are decent compared to most amusement parks, but I do wish they had more options. This is certainly geared towards children and those seeking less thrilling/dangerous rides, but can certainly be fun for adults too. They seemed to have a large period of growth a decade ago where new rides were being added and removed often (space is a -huge- limiting factor), that seems to have slowed. Bathrooms are okay and free here (one of the few on the beach that is). Most of the games are your classic crapshoot of tipped odds, but the people who operate them and the rides are not by any means "unsavory". In fact, most are here from other countries and have intriguing stories and are very kind. As a child, I befriended the daughter of one worker from Ukraine and we swapped stories and her father let us ride the Flume ride over and over again since it was a slow afternoon. :)

Honestly probably the perfect all season fair/park for all your amusement needs. This little is the ideal place to bring your kids on a weekend and let them just run wild while you and your other half can go for a nice dinner on the pier and finish the night off with a nice stroll on the beach. The rides here are mild and a comfortable range of kiddie to medium-fast. Regarding food you get a good pick of different vendors with hot dogs and fried everything. The Pier offers a good amount of small ocean view restaurants ranging from pricey to simple. The only con I would have to say is the prices of the all day ride passes which will run you at about 30$ or so. Considering the amount of rides its a bit much. So go here on a good day where the sun is out and you will most likely get no lines and be able to leave and enter the playland as you please with no trouble and you have a guaranteed night filled with fun and romance.

For all you people saying that this place is a rundown miserable place, ITS NOT! Ive been going there my WHOLE LIFE and all of the rides are well maintained! They even swap out rides to put in new ones! The riptide, that one has only been there for 2 years! And the games, the games are the best! There not "Run-Down"! The beach is AMAZING and you can see the whole beach at the top of the Ferris wheel! Yes, I do recommend Palace Playland as an AMAZING and FUN place for families! And for all of those people that are saying that this place is bad and miserable, dont listen to them, theyre just being spoiled brats that cant accept that this place has been around forever! So if you want Six Flags, then go there, but if you want quality family time, Come to Palace Playland! *drops mic and walks off stage*

Our family had a great time here. It is a bit pricey but we were on vacation! We have a large family and the little ones were able to ride almost everything with their wristbands, just know that the wristband only covers rides 2 tickets or less. Our 5 year old has a cast and he was still allowed on the rides. I am an expectant mother and I was also allowed to walk my children through some of the milder attractions like the Wacky House, and the attendant even showed me how to safely maneuver around some of the trickier things like the shaky walkway and such. I would have rated the service higher but the rides are run by teenagers and you know how that goes, they probably get bored lol. Its a great environment and there is plenty to do for all ages. I do recommend it to families, it was fun!

Palace Playland is a fun family spot right next to the Old Orchard Beach pier. Its more kid-focused than some of the larger theme parks, which might not be appealing to some adults. However, the big advantage over the bigger parks is that adults dont have to pay to get in. There is no price of admission, only a price for rides. This makes it a cheaper option for families who are content to wander around eating fair food and watching their kids go on on rides. Although the rides and attractions arent as adult-friendly as the bigger parks, it does have some adult rides, as well as a decent-sized arcade. Its also right around the corner from restaurants, bars, shops, and the beach. Overall, a great place for a relatively affordable family outing.

Ive been going here since I was 3, now almost 20. I was here last night with my 2 1/2 year old son. He was on a car ride having a blast. The dumb broad working unbuckled him, turned around and walked away without even helping him out let alone making sure he got out alright. He tried himself and fell out hitting his face on the pavement causing a bloody nose. My dad rushed in to get him. The girl working saw it turned around and walked away!! If you give a damn about your child and their safety, DO NOT BRING THEM HERE! The people working obviously dont care.

My niece was nearly serioulsy injured when an operator of a ride was not paying attention. The operator failed to look at the passengers before beginning the ride. If it were not for the quick action by my brother in law she would have been seriously injured and possibly killed. We had purchased passes for two days for 3 kids. This was the second ride they were on and after the incident there were horrified to try anything else. We asked the managment for our money back and they refused to give us a refund. This was a horrible experience.

This is a great place to bring kids of all ages. Nostalgic rides by the sea better than the carnivals that come to your town. This place is not as trashy as other seaside amusement parks. Get to the Galaxy roller coaster this year as it will be retired. Ive been coming here since a child and now bring my children. Not much has changed in the 40 years. Stop by the book store its a hidden jem. Great books to read on beach or gifts for kids. Books are priced well below retail worth stopping in.
