Beautiful Old Louisville/Downtown park, but feels like a suburban/state park. Large for where it is. Kept extremely clean and well manicured. Playground equipment is clean and kept up. A larger police substation is right on the grounds, and its usually busy. So there are always cops around which (I believe) keeps the riffraff away. Could explain why the park is in such good shape, too. Someone who worked with the park was extremely helpful in getting me where I needed to go from there, as well as taking my daughter to the closest bathroom when it was an emergency. My 5 y.o. nephew had run across the park and she had to go right away so he led her there. VERY nice older man. Everytime we go there, we love it more and more. Its a must see in Downtown Louisville!

Love coming to this park to attend Shakespeare in the Park during the summer. The staging/amphitheatre area is spacious and very well done. Bring a blanket or pillow to put on the benches to sit on though. Restrooms have recently been redone. Park also includes tennis courts, a play area, and a splash fountain. It is located right next to a police station. Lovely old louisville park indeed!

Beautiful park. Plenty of shade with all the trees. It has a fully equipped playground and a giant sparkler for the kids. Tennis courts, jogging path and an amphitheater for adults. In the summer it host Shakespeare in the park and many other events. In the fall its home to the st. James art fest.

Lovely park in the old Louisville area of the city. Fine old Victorian houses surrounding a beautiful leafy park with tennis and basketball courts. I saw Shakespeare in the Park here which was a real treat one summers evening. A lovely shady oasis.

I have a lot of nostalgia for this park. I feel like it has a lot community. There are six tennis courts and a late stage for Shakespeare in the park. There is a nice jungle gym with swings and a small fountain. Dogs like the fountain.

A little bit of everything! Shakespeare to Pokémon. several poke stops and even a battle in the middle of the play area. If your coming to watch Shakespeare and have kids, they can enjoy some good battles or play on the play ground.

Love the park...BUT the benches at the amphitheater are down right DANGEROUS and a law suit is around the corner if not in process already. The lawn area could use a major insect treatment...... the park needs repair.

I went to watch Much Ado About nothing at the shakespeare in the park festival. It was great, the only issue is that the amphitheater seat rows arent sloped very much, so sitting behind a tall person can be an issue

Great area you can catch local events occasionally like the Shakespeare acts. Usually clean, friendly people usually here. Tennis courts are free if they arent reserved. Great place to walk the puppers

Love Shakespeare in the park each summer. Solid playground and the best grove of baldcypress Ive found in town. Its fun to play on the Shakespeare stage when its not in season. Old Louisvilles gem.

A wonderful space for family. Will reach perfection once restroom renovations are completed. Home of Shakespeare in Central Park - the longest running free Shakespeare company in the United States.

This park has Shakespeare in the park every summer. Not real big but there is a small playground with a fountain to play in. Also this park has its own police station.

My son loves it and the dogs that come by. My brother used to always get a tennis ball when one of the players hit it out the court. So much fun

Pretty park, could use less people. Has a police station, fun park events, and good amenities. Occasionally you get the male creepers though.

This park needs better maintenance and more picnic tables. Better lighting. More people helping with keeping it clean.
