Zom Bee Nature

There are VERY surprising wild things in this park, things I doubt you will find in any other city park including Eagle Creek across town. I wont say what the most surprising animals are because some bonehead will try to get them. But a surprising plant is Horsetails growing right next to the paved path, though you probably wont even notice them. And something I _know_ you wont notice are a particular kind of isopod (pillbug, sowbug, roly-poly, potato bug, whatever) I found in ONE place in the park. And a kind of brown slug. There, just try to find them! Ha!

A small version of Ft. Ben State Park, usually with fewer people (especially if you exit the main trail). Interesting historical background of the previous resident is worth looking into. Ive seen deer, turtles, a great horned owl, and many other birds here.

Good place for a short hike. Free parking. Rarely will you see people on the trails. You can hear the roar of the interstate though the park. Leave the paved trail at the first sign and seating area for a nice trial though the woods.

This is a great little walking area with plenty of flora and fauna to enjoy - make sure to go when it hasnt rained in a while, as some of the best paths in the park are dirt trails.

I often go here for lunch. The trails are clean and appear well maintained. If you head south you can walk along the river and in well maintained green areas.

Hilly nature preserve with about 30 minutes of good hiking. Good place to see deer. Just inside the belt.

The Newb Tube

Never very many people here so it is very relaxing and a great place to visit once in a while.
