Terrible workplace. They couldnt even bother to open the door for me on my first day. The supervisor would appeared during the first few hours and then disappeared throughout the entire shift. I was suppose to work as a machine operator, that was what I had applied for but those idiots place me doing boxes and sorting materials and those works doesnt last me the entire shift either. When I need something else to do I went to find the supervisor but since that guy disappeared for the entirety of the shift, I had to spent the rest of the shift walking around pretending to be working. I even ask to see a lead which they had none and they wouldnt want me anywhere near the machines. Just terrible and the shift is 12 hours long. I told them countless times I need more work than just making boxes and pretending to 5S and all they said was just help assist the others and I did but those other co-workers doesnt had much for me to do for the rest of the night either. Just terrible and the next day when the supervisor arrive he just says why havent you been doing your work? I was thinking dude where were you when I need work? Just terrible, of course they terminate me afterward for lack of work. With no lead, no good management and no work I dont see how any temp worker would want to work there. The supervisor disappear for 75% of the shift so if you cant find him before, youll not going to get much else to do later on and they dont plan your day for you, youll just have to do what you have been doing.
I didnt work here, but my husband did. He was hired as a full time employee-- after a new supervisor was hired, he was let go. 12 hr shifts working you like a dog. Depending on your position in the warehouse-- good luck trying to get a break for lunch since you have to keep your line running at all times (keeping an eye on it). Their point systems sucks-- you get written up for pointless things like if the parts comes out bad during startup (the splice is put in the wrong spot at a certain measurment) Training was... he overshadowed another employee and did what he did. Would not recommend anyone that I know to this place-- they wouldnt last.
I work here once as a temp. Didnt remember much of what I was suppose to do there but I do remember those endless test and quizzes which I was required to take on my first day there and was only allow only one mistake per test on all of them (seriously I am told that I cant miss more than one otherwise they wont considered me). Since they let me go two days after I work there, I guess I didnt passed one of them many test they kept throwing at me. Oh well, guess test results matter to them more than skills.
Our class got an opportunity to visit the facility. This is a company that is a perfect fit for Minnesota. They have a "zero waste" policy when it comes to excess material. The grounds, and facility were spotless! They have a high retention rate of employees, so they really to be on the right track. Kudos
Place is a joke didnt even get to start, wasted a month in half of my time only to be offered a different position which was a slap in the face. Sad to see what these companies are coming too. Im sure they filled the position I applied for and thats why I decided to go elsewhere.
Uponor is a great company! They have a world class training facility (See the vitual tour)and the staff. Steve, Dan, Wes and of course Doreen are all top notch. Thanks for a great experience.
