While visiting Springfield I decided to visit their only winery: very I happy that I did. The owners and workers were friendly and warm on this very cold winter days visit. They offered tastings of their wine at no charge. Not only did they go into very vivid detail as to how the make their wines, they took me into the back area and showed me several wines that were in the process of being made. They (OOVVDA) are fruit wine makers of all varieties bottling both semi-dry and sweet versions of most offerings which ranged from raspberry, cherry, apple, peach, plum, and blueberry. They do this while avoiding syrupy or cough medicine tragedies that are often encountered with cheap low-shelf fruit wines. From what I could see they are able to closely control quality by racking small manageable batches that they can keep good quality control over. I walked out with four bottles in hand, though I know that had my other half been with me, it would have been closer to a full case. Check it out - small business in America is still going strong!

Seemed like a really cool place. However, went in to the tasting room to get a bottle of wine and was never helped. Other guests were wine tasting but, we were never helped or greeted. Waited about 20 minutes with no one saying anything to us and decided to leave. I didnt know if were were suppose to wait until they were done or what, because no one said anything to us. Im super upset because I love going to wineries and this one is the closest to home so it wouldve been nice if our first visit there was a better experience. Likely wont go back and try again. Hopefully if you go you get better service than we did.

A great wine tasting experience. The owner told us about each wine, explaining things very well for someone as inexperienced as I am in the wine world. They have a good selection, and a few wines that arent really available in other places, like tomato wine and peach melba. They have a nice outdoor area to enjoy a glass of wine of an evening, and sometimes they host live music.

Great local winery that specializes in fruit wines. Most varieties have sweet and semi-dry options, so if youre not a fan of sweet, youll still be satisfied. If you DO like sweet, OOVDA has great options. My personal favorites are the apple wine, vingoles (a Missouri grape varietal), and the blackberry dessert wine.

Had a wonderful time here: well informed on the making of wine, variety of blends to appease diverse drinkers, and a beautiful sitting area to enjoy a bottle bought. Really appreciated the free wine tasting, as we were not avid wine drinker. Definitely plan on returning soon.

Yes owner was very knowledgeable and offered free tasings of many of his wines... My wife and I loved almost every wine we tried and will definitely be going back... We left with 4 bottles and would have bought more but we had made other wine stops previously...
