McHenry is a great park! Picturesque views of the city over the river, a top notch splash park, a regular playground, and the coolest natural playscape with wooden bridges and hollowed out trees!

It would be great if the water part of the park wasnt turned off at 5pm on these super hot days. On 7/18 the water was off by 5pm. It was still 95 out. And about 10 kids wanrinv to play

Beautiful overview of the Des Moines river. Quiet area. Trail head for bike and walking path. Splash pad for kids along with play areas. Covered shelters for late gatherings.

We love this park as a family. The playground is okay but the spray ground and natural playscape are fantastic! All of my kids from toddlers to tweens enjoy it here.

This was my childhood park many years ago... I have brought my children here and oo my all the changes wonderfull changes.. Splash pad is super cool!!

Loved this park and still do but it is getting rough with families not supervising their kids and parents not acting like role models.
