My wife and I played there this weekend and this is definitely one of our new favorite courses. Im not sure about the reviews that say this course is boring, wide open, and not challenging. You need accurate drives. About half of the holes had some sort of water or sand in play off of the tee and I think there were only 1 or 2 straight holes on the course. This was our biggest challenge since the scorecards and hole signs dont have the hole layout anywhere (they have the pin positions). Having never played there before, we were sort of guessing at what was ahead. You also need accurate approach shots since most greens are parking lot sized. The course was in pretty good shape considering the very hot/dry weather recently. However, it way dry. I had a lot of tee shots run through the fairway and I was hitting from under trees quite often. The staff was excellent and did a terrific job of making sure our experience was as good as possible. Weve run into quite a few backed up courses recently where it seems the pro shop is just letting everyone go out at once. That was definitely not the case here. We did not wait, nor were we waited on all day. Also, $40 for a couple on the weekend after 1pm cant be beat. Twilight rates ($25) start at 1pm.

We played there on Memorial Day and we were very favorably impressed. As anyone in Indiana knows, May has been exceptionally wet and that has made maintenance on golf courses extremely difficult and the rough everywhere is..well...rough, even in the first cut. Despite this, the course was in great shape. The fairways are wide on this course making it playable, but the greens are huge, so accuracy is important when hitting on to the green. As far as the employees are concerned, we were treated very well and everyone was very nice. The starter/ranger (Lee) was kind enough to personally escort my wife across the course and back to the clubhouse to use the restroom (the only restroom on the course is located there) and escorted her back when she was done. The personnel in the pro shop and snack bar were also very nice. Either there has been a change in staff or the guy who was there in 2009 who wrote his review had an attitude.

I came in from out of town with no clubs or balls. I arrived about 5:30 right before the Tuesday league got started. The staff hooked me up with clubs (TopFlights) and let me play the front 9 for $40 including cart. Nobody was in front of me and I zoomed through even playing two balls. The course was a cow pasture comapred to other places I have played. The greens were very thin, there wasnt many challenging holes or any memorable holes. This was a very park like course and certainly not links style course.

Course is average at best but the staff is rude and unpleasant. Newsflash guys, you dont have the course or do the business to have that kind of attitude. No wonder your greens fees are bargain basement. Look elsewhere.
