Dont have your event here! We had our daughters baptism here, and our experience dealing with the staff was horrible! Because we have a big family, we frequently hold reception parties at larger event spaces, and this business was by far the WORSE business we have dealt with in preparing for a party and in terms of service during the event!! When finalizing the details prior to our party, I spoke with Amy C. After a few days, I get an unnecessary email from Janene Z. asking me the same questions that I already answered when Amy and I spoke. They didnt seem to communicate amongst each other, and I had to repeat myself several times to other staff members because I had to correct the staff on the day of the event as well! On the day of the event, the centerpieces they were supposed to provide were not set up on the tables and neither was the card holder for gifted envelopes that Amy said would be there. We set up our favors on a display tree for our guests that morning, and next to the display tree was a sign that said "Favors...please take one." When we arrived for our event, the display tree was completely bare, and they moved all of the favors onto the plates of our guests!! So here are guests walking in to see an embarrassing bare display tree. It did not seem sensible to move the favors! Only two servers were there for our event. We expected and paid for 60 adults. One of our servers who seemed to be in charge was Michelle. At first she seemed helpful and accommodating, but as the night progressed, her work and attitude got worse. It was snowing heavily that day so the waitstaff anticipated some guests to be late. I informed them to set aside plated food for those arriving late, and they agreed to it. However, when the late guests arrived, Michelle would roll her eyes and sigh because she had to prepare another plate. WE PAID FOR 60 ADULTS SO WE EXPECT TO SERVE FOOD TO 60 GUESTS!!! Not even all 60 guests made it to the party...only 47 guests actually showed up due to the snowfall. There should not have been a shortage of food and it should not have been a problem to feed our guests. Excuses were given such as "I have to ask the chef" "Ill check if theres enough food" and "The food will be cold." It was embarrassing to have our guests who drove in from out of town during the heavy snowfall to be treated that way and to see Michelle roll her eyes and sigh like its problem to serve them food. Then, one of my guests asked Michelle if she could bring ice cream to her table because every table got ice cream but theirs. Michelles response was "I dont have time to do that right now." She never got them ice cream. My guest at that table complained this to me afterwards. Then, when we asked the cake to be cut and boxed for our guests, Michelle rolled her eyes again like it was a problem to do. That was the last time we saw any staff member. After the cake, we were left completely alone until it was time to go home. No one checked up on us after that and this was around 5:30pm. Our party was supposed to be from 3pm to 7pm. We did not see any wait staff or banquet staff member at all after 5:30pm!! From 5:30pm and on, we were by ourselves. They just left us there without notice. We packed up our decorations by ourselves. We waited around for someone to come, but no one came to check on us. No one came to speak to us or ask us if we needed any help. So we just left to go home. The service SUCKS! I regret having our party there. Awful experience!

The Best Place Out There! Silver Lake Country Club is an amazing place to have any special event. We could not be happier with the process of planning our wedding from start to finish with Amy, Janet and the team. The entire staff at Silver Lake was so helpful, kind, easy to work with, funny and calm--everything a bride and groom could ask for on their special day. The golf course was picture perfect and the newly remodeled reception room was elegant and beautiful (we especially loved the way the lights twinkled through the windows at night-so romantic). One of our main priorities was finding a place with good food for an even better price. The food at Silver Lake Country Club was incredible!! Our family and friends STILL rave about the exceptional service and delicious meal at our wedding. And we still can’t believe the price was so budget friendly-you will not find a better value anywhere else! We would recommend Silver Lake over and over again!

A friend and i came here just to check it out and see if this could be a new hang out for us. On the way out as we were leaving we see one of the workers chasing our truck lol turns my buddy left wallet at the counter, with $800 bucks in it. Anyone who returns that in Illinois is good people lol will defiantly come back. Play was a little slow but it was also 11am. Greens are perfect and very well kept. Service was spectacular, very nice people. I seen one with a bad attitude giving a worker a hard time and the worker kept his and never lost his charm with the very rude costumer lol. If your looking great service and a great course, this is it.

I did not experience the slow play on the several occasions that I have played both the North and South course. I loved the course both are great layouts and both were in excellent shape. As far at the slow play comments it seems the past few years I have experienced this on every course I play at one time or another. I play all over the state and neighboring states Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan and this is a common problem. We have way to many Tiger and Phil wannabes out there with hacker abilities. Their are a lot of new golfers that are watching way too much TV and they do NOT understand or have a concept of ready golf.

Silver lake country club went above and beyond with our wedding! They have many items you can simply borrow (I.e card holders, toasting glasses, cake cutting utensils, umbrellas) and they respond so so quickly to emails. Their landscaping and views of the golf course were gorgeous and great for pictures on site. The service was great, the food was delicious and the staff were so helpful and friendly! Could not have asked for a better venue! I highly recommend them! They definitely helped reduce the stress of wedding planning!

Vegan options were awful. Salad was just a plate of spinach, and the main course was a plate of spinach and some rice. Its not the hardest thing Im the world to learn some better vegan dishes... The service was decent and we could drown out our sorrows at the bar, but the food really left a terrible impression. If the food was not the fault of this place, correct me and I will change my review, but it seems that they handle the food themselves.

Recently attended a wedding their, bar staff was great... the wait staff were hit or miss.. some were great others were a bull in a China shop rude. The food was hospital food bland and the prime rib was cold. The decore screamed 1980 and what a poor set up in the mens room always like to was my hands next to a naked guy from the locker room... I wouldnt recommend this venue to anyone ever!!!!!!
