Golf course is older and short. But well maintained. Played quite a few times in 2013 and the management and staff are great. I think its unfair that the other google review is a neighbor who from the looks of it doesnt have a clue about golf. What do you expect from having a house next to a golf course. Go figure. Course needs more work but it has improved greatly from previous years. Very competitively priced and in my opinion all around decent course for its price range. If youre expecting 5 star treatment, then find another course and prepare to pay in the 100s. Please golfers reviewers only, not local neighbors wanting to complain. Grow some trees or sound proof your house.

My sons and I played this course a lot this summer because kids 17 and under play free at certain times. Of course I prefer to play at nicer courses with longer and tougher par 4s, but Chick Evans is a fun run. Most of the par 4s are short, but they still have their challenges. One par 4 is so short its almost a long par 3. Watch out. Some of the greens are tricky and have some subtle breaks. The phrase "You get what you pay for" definitely applies to this course.

Had a tee time for 1015 am and when we arrived at 945 there was only one person working the day before july 4th. We teed off late and our round took over 5 hours because no one was keeping pace and they did not send around a ranger to keep people playing ready golf. Had played here a couple times and its well groomed but very frustrating to be constantly standing around waiting and spending over 5 hours. Wont be coming back

This is fun 18 hole golf course, whether you are a beginner or weekly golfer this place is nice. The park as a whole is small but the way the 18 holes loops around make it seem bigger than it really is. The Chicago river runs through the course with makes a few holes challenging to say the least. The staff is always real nice and the prices are extremely fair, make sure you check their website for specials.

For a public course, it is kept in very good condition and offers a decent challenge for the price. However, most of the challenge of the course comes as a result of its urban setting: avoiding roads that hug some fairways, teeing off into power lines, etc. Plus, it can take well over 5 hours for a round. Still, it is a good place to bring novice golfers and have a good time out on the course.

Public golf course boasting first year of profit...at the cost of alienating the homes around it by mowing grass & blowing leaves at 4:30 am. The greens routinely flood with a heavy rain. And yes, I,m a disgruntled neighbor. But I have heard nothing good about the course from users except it,s relatively cheap & you get what you pay for. For this ... we loose sleep.

Great course, pretty cost effective. 18 holes that plays pretty quick. Location is a big plus here. Not a terribly difficult course. Chicago River bisects about 4 holes here, so bring extra golf balls. Overall a great play and Ive seen them on Groupon recently.

Great course when its not packed. When it is, be prepared to wait on the 3rd hole, 5th hole, 9th hole, 10th hole, 14th hole....will take over 5hrs to play. Get there early if you want to play 4hrs or less. Get there later if you want to waste 5+hrs.

Great course so close to the city. Peaceful and tranquil. The disgruntled neighbor should move. She must have not noticed the golf course when she purchased her home. Thats what happens on a golf course

I rated this a 4....its definitely one of the nicest cook county forest preserve golf courses...Id give a higher rating if the grounds were in better shape. Definitely a good value...worth the money

Nice public course. Decent rates. Kept up well. In the forest preserve, so its pretty as well. I actually enjoy some of the longer cart paths through the woods between holes.

Great value (Keep an eye out for them on Groupon). Sometimes the course can be backed up, but thats golf. I would also recommend bug spray and to remember to tell FORE.
