This is a great preserve along the Lake Michigan shoreline. There are many bluffs looking out toward the Lake. There is a prairie being restored to what the Illinois prairies looked like in the past. A trail flows through the prairie. You can ride your bicycle here and lock it up on the rack. There is a limited amount of auto parking. It can get crowded on summer weekends. If you are in the area, its worth a visit.

The view here is pretty good. Most of the back is rocky and there is a lot of underwater steel structures with sharp edges, so its risky to swim or even wade in the water.

Currently beach access is closed, doing restoration and environmental work. The trails are natural, so boots are recommended, as it can be muddy.
