I cant believe Ive only just started seeing shows at this venue. Ive been there twice in the last week for The Kooks and for The 1975, we also have plans to see Agnes Obel there in November. However, up until the Lolla after-show Blitz, Id only ever walked by. The best thing about this place is the space. Theres a solid combination of tables and standing room. Tables are pretty much first ask, first server, and there are even a few bar style seats at the back. but if you want to get down and close to the band theres plenty of room. There were lines out the door for all the shows we went to, but even after waiting in line for about 20 minutes for The 1975 we were just 5 rows back when it seemed like we wouldnt have a place to stand. (there were people waiting for that show from 3AM just to get in the front row, I think we got the better deal!). As for the sound, I would say it was just Average, definitely not on par with Lincoln Hall, but good. Im looking forward to seeing Agnes Obel here, I think itll be a great time.

Beware the no re entry policy. My husband attempted to steer clear of the madness that was exiting this theatre while everyone tried to take photos with the act. He took one step past the open inner door ( the flipping coat check area) as in. I could still see him within the theater and they put an arm in front him "NO RE-ENTRY". As in, let me pick up my coat while the madness dies down and then grab a snap shot with my favorite people ever" is met with NO RE-ENTRY. mind you...this policy is not posted or stated in any way before you walk out. They even tried to deny re-entry to one of the headlining performers. This is the way they treat people who just raised money for charity at their venue. He didnt even make it to the street, the no re-entry begins at THEIR effing coat check area...moral of the story:stay in everyones way and refuse to move because they WILL cap off your amazing night with some hor fresh bull crap.

My first time here was to see Art Garfunkel, I was not fully aware of the seating arrangement, but it worked for that occasion, since I was only a couple feet away from him(!). It provided an understated, but enjoyable and intimate performance. My second time was to see the decidedly more heavy Deap Vally and Band of Skulls, so I was worried about the seating situation, since I did NOT want to be seated for that show. But, luckily, there was an open pit area made available. So, two very different shows, and two incarnations of the same venue, that accommodated both perfectly. Bonus! There is a divvy station right across, if you dont want to worry about parking.

I purchased a ticket for the Rachel Platten show on 3/19/16 with the misinformation that Christina Grimmie would be the opener. I only decided to do the hated drive into the city and watch a show in a bar type venue, which I also dislike to see Christina. The e-ticket said sales were final but I hoped that due to the misinformation about opening act, I might get at least a partial refund when I tried to cancel about 1 month before the sold out show. THEY REFUSED! I have nothing against Rachel but am a big Christina Grimmie fan and just a casual fan of Rachel. It looks like I will have to just throw the ticket away. BUMMED

I always leave Park West with low back pain because the floors are so hard, but its a great place to see a show nonetheless! So many great times (& great shows) here, and walking distance home is always bonus! Get there early to secure standing space, as there is not a lot of room for dancing with tables mixed into the main floor. Very intimate venue that allows for creative use of the space. Recent shows Ive been too at PW include: Mike Gordon, Dark Star Orchestra, Medeski, Martin & Wood, and Galactic. Go if a band you like is playing there, but get your tickets early as it sells out fast since capacity is around 900.

Was once a 5 star for me, but my last experience was less than stellar. The main issue I encountered was that typically at this venue, staff will ask patrons who are being loud and obnoxious to refrain or leave. Last night, a small group behind me at the bar carried on loudly while the act was playing, and staff simply ignored it. I said something to them myself and was laughed at, so I left early. It is sad when other guests treat a music venue like it is a sports bar, but worse when staff intentionally ignore it and allow them to diminish the quality for others who paid a premium to see a show.

This place is a great venue. Really no seat is a "bad" seat as far as seeing the stage goes however, as for comfort, the need to seriously think about rearranging the main seating. If you buy general tickets and are not renting a whole table you have to sit at these long rectangular tables. They are super close together and really cramped. If you are at the end of the table you are constantly having to move you legs and feet to let patrons and the wait staff get through. Both before and DURING the show. It is the weirdest seating I have ever seen.

Really intimate venue, it does make you feel like in a private concert or first row experience but parking was full so come early, also bar has a minimum charge if you are paying with credit card or the option of leave your credit card with them and open a tap so if you are not comfortable of leave your credit card with the bartender bring cash or purchase the minimum per charge and pay the difference in the tip section so it match the minimum (weird I know I tip 5 in cash)

This is a great venue for a show. It has a nice open floor area for people to stand and plenty of places to sit as well, all with great viewing areas. The sound is usually fantastic in here. The tickets are always fairly priced. Ive had some friends say a few bad things about the seating situation, as in sometimes there isnt any standing room and you have to find a table, but Ive never experiened this so take it for what its worth. Definitely check this place out!

I love the 80s vibes I get from Park West. I saw Little Feat there and the tables were set up and it was great having a home base to come back to in between dancing songs. Then I saw Trombone Shorty there and the place was rocking. No room for tables as the dance floor was PACKED! If the dance floor is packed head to the left side of the stage for a bar thats easy to access - you can also sneak around to get to the bathrooms from the left side as well.

The Park West is a great intimate venue in Chicago that feels much larger than it actually is. Capacity is a thousand or less, the room has good acoustics, the facility is clean and well cared for, but the bar can get a bit pricey, which is typical for the neighborhood. Ive seen oodles of shows at the Park West, and always had an enjoyable time. If a band youd like to see is playing there, by all means, GO!
