Took my wife and kids to see the Captain Underpants movie this past Sunday, (June 25th). I had read a few reviews on Google about the place but decided to give it a go anyway thinking that maybe a lot of it was exaggerations.....It wasnt. The carpets, (as mentioned in numerous other posts), were absolutely disgusting throughout. And I dont just mean dirty, I mean could be carrying some sort of virus level disgusting. The staff, (also mentioned in numerous other posts), were indeed very friendly and helpful but that couldnt save this experience. The ticket booth was closed with a sign that read "purchase tickets at concession stand" which is a common thing for afternoon matinees in various theaters so I wasnt put off by that in the least. The young girl at the concession stand told me that the Captain Underpants theater had no A/C and offered to let me go and check out the temperature before buying tickets. It was a little muggy but not too bad since there were no other persons in there so I decided it would be okay for us. When I returned to the concessions I ordered 2 adults and 2 childrens tickets, (mind you this is a Sunday afternoon matinee), as well as 2 Icees, 2 small popcorns, a water, a medium soda and a box of candy. The girl then rang up the total and with a straight face looked at me and said, "Thatll be $93.70." My jaw nearly hit the floor. Even the older gentleman and his wife behind me were astonished and he made the comment that I could take my entire family out to a nice dinner for less than that. Now Im a reasonable guy but Im not a sucker either. I told the girl, (who seemed like my reaction was pretty common at that theater), to cancel the entire order and I gathered my wife and kids and left NEVER to return. Ive never written a review of anything even when I feel that Im getting taken for a ride but I felt I needed to write this one to hopefully save a parent out there a wasted trip and disappointed children.

If I could give no stars I would. First when we walked in it was dirty and food all on the floor. no one greeted us as we walked in or came up to the counter, they just asked what movie and for an ID very rudely. We were going to see Dont Breath and she asked for our ID. Any other movie theater would let someone 18 and older buy a ticket for someone else as long as you have an ID. They said you have to be 21 or older with an ID to buy someone elses ticket or you had to be at least 17 to buy your own ticket. Then the girl with the purple hair was being very rude and she walked away from the counter when we got a guardian to come and buy the tickets for us. The they said he has to sit in the movie with us and if he leaves we gotta leave with him like he has to babysit us. I am 18 years old and i find that unacceptable to me to have someone babysit us 18 and 17 year olds in the movies. And the manager was very rude a disrespectful. I will never go back to that movie theater ever again. Worst experience ever. Ive went to a different movie theater at a way younger age and didnt have to go through that bullshit! And if you can avoid this movie theater, DONT GO!!!! 0 star rating ...

Do not visit this theatre. We were staying on Tybee Island and this theatre seemed close by so we have it a try even though I read the negative reviews. Please dont be like me and ignore these reviews. Our first interaction was with the cashier that overcharged us even after telling us that our two year old did not require a ticket. The interior of the theatre is in shambles. There is paint peeling from the walls, carpet is torn and the theatre seats look nasty. Once we entered the theatre, we noticed how hot it was. There was no air moving and hadnt been for some time. I asked the staff that was cleaning if he could turn the air down. He said he would ask the manager. We waited about 30 minutes and the room never cooled nor did we ever feel air circulating. I went to the front and inquired about the air. I was told the repairman had just been there and it should cool off. It never did. When we left, we overheard another patron complain and she was told that it was an ongoing problem. Funny part is.... The front where the staff stayed was cool. I think this location is in financial trouble and pinching pennies. Stay away!

Horrible. We went today it took them 10 minutes to figure out how to accept screen shots of our already purchased tickets. We were the only customers and their were 3 employees. Then it took 15 minutes to get our 2 popcorns and two drinks. When we sat down in the theatre we had missed the beginning of our movie. I tasted my coke to find it was all syrup and no soda, and our popcorn was flooded with salt and cold. I went back to concessions to get another coke from the other machine, not much improvement. They offer to replace the popcorn because they said they knew it was bad! They said it was salty because of the type of oil they used and that making more would be just as bad. They offered to refund my money on one bag( not both bad bags) and it took the manager 15 minutes to fill out one line in a book by hand so she could refund me. Thus I missed 20 more minutes of the movie. After the movie we went to the Ladys room which was filthy and had no toilet paper. Never again. Savannah has too many good theaters to both with this one again.

This building is in such poor condition. My husband made the comment that he felt like he was in a "hunted house." The paint is peeling off the walls in huge hunks and the carpet is disgusting. At first it looks like it could be a shadow but its just that disgusting. I cannot believe I was charged the same admission price as competing theaters. ($35 for 2 tickets small popcorn and drink) The staff was minimal. We were not spoken to nor did I see anyone again after we bought our tickets including when we walked through the lobby on our way out. The previews prior to the movie beginning were so loud it literally hurt my ears... and Im in my twenties. I read other things on here about the air conditioning being messed up… I suppose that was repaired because it was not hot. In my opinion this location should transition into a discount cinema with $2 tickets or close for remodeling.

I went to this theater when it seemed like they first started renovating which was in april The building was in terrible condition and i was told that they were working hard to improve the place and alot would be changing soon I went in last week which would have been october and still looked like nothing had been done at all Everytime i have been there is only one person doing everything working the register, making popcorn, and trying to clean theaters not once have i seen a manager present them selves or greet anyone anytime i have asked the response is they are here but in the back The employees were fairly nice but that was the only nice thing about the theater worst customer experience I have had. No signs of improvement.
