This is my home course where I play the bulk of my golf. Love this course for many reasons. Firstly, for a public course with reasonable rates but one that gets a lot of traffic, the course is always well maintained. I concur that the greens are not in the great condition they normally are this time of year, but I just played White Columns Country Club a week ago and the greens were in similar condition. It is simply a symptom of the brutal late summer heat. The course maintenance staff are doing their best under the circumstances. Reason #2: Pace of play. This is the only course where you are guaranteed to finish an 18-hole round in less than 4 1/2 hours. Time is money. Nobody likes to sit in carts in 95 degree heat waiting for the slow/oblivious/selfish golfers in front to take 20 minutes to finish a hole. And they are seldom over-zealous about it. The rangers are always friendly. The great pace of play is due to golfer education... this course does a great job of making people aware of the simple ways to make your round go quicker and be more enjoyable. Reason #3: Friendly and helpful staff, from the bag boys to the shop staff to the maintenance crew. Reason #4: A bonus par 3 9-hole course which is a pleasure to play and which is in exceptional shape for a par 3 course. Perfect for a quick round after work or to start your junior/wife/girlfriend on without pressure. Reason #5: Layout is excellent, holes are just challenging enough, and in general the course is scenic for a public course. No houses to be seen, and that, right in the heart of Johns Creek, is pretty impressive. Reason #6: Practice areas. Nice range with grass bays, two practice greens (putting/chipping) and a pitching area with practice bunker. Reason #7: Instruction programs. Huge junior golf instruction program and activities (tournaments, clinics, etc). My son plays competitive golf and there are no less than 6 instructors who offer junior lessons. Half of those instructors also offer adult lessons and frequent clinics. This is also the home of Mike Perpich, PGA Tour Pro Jason Bohns instructor. Good luck getting a lesson with him though. Reason #8: Community. There are many regulars whom you see there all the time. Thats always a good sign. I also love the tournaments here and always make new friends when participating.

Course is in descent shape, was some bad construction on the 18th fairway. The two stars is really because they are over zealous about pace of play to the point of harassment. I understand trying to maintain a descent pace of play but we were not playing slow, and the group behind us were not waiting at any point for us. Our group had a junior playing red tees, 1 guy playing whites, and 2 playing blues and it was 100 degrees outside. Our first warning after 7 holes was that we were SIX MINUTES behind pace. On the back 9 the ranger basically stalked us the entire time. even though the group behind was not ever waiting on us to clear he asked us to skip a hole on the 15th. Great course but just a little over zealous in my opinion. They should put a notice out for the weekend golfers letting them know that juniors and/or groups that use different tee boxes should not play there unless they want to be harrased and asked to skip holes.

Excellent service from the staff, they allowed us to go out early so we could play by ourselves and not be teamed up with another pair. We finished the round in 3 hours and 50 minutes even while waiting on the group in front of us on 3-4 holes until we stopped at the grill on the turn. The course is very scenic and was well maintained with the exception of the greens which is why they get 3 stars. Paid full price for 18 holes and every single green was in horrific condition. The greens still had the holes in them from being punched for aerification, however there wasnt any sand on the greens which leads me to believe they were punched a month ago or so and the greens just never recovered. That is something that should be disclosed to golfers before booking similar to how GolfNow notifies customers.

I had played this course on March the 31 and I really enjoy the course it self and the staff was very nice and very friendly to me on my visit. The course was in very good shape and the green was in excellent condition. I would highly tell any one who is looking for a good course to play I would send them to this place. The price of the course is worth paying and I would come back and play it again. It was more than what I have thought it was going to be like to play on it and the course it self had a few challege to it with some of the water in play and some sand bunkers in play as well but other than that I really like the course and I would rate it at 5 Stars.

The layout is strong, well maintained, and there are some great elevation changes and river front scenery. This course is challenging and seems to kick my butt every time I play it, as Ill shoot a good five to six strokes above what I would usually shoot elsewhere. Facilities are nice and you dont get a lot of the attitude you get at some other public facilities in north Fulton. Overall, an above average track and well worth a visit- just bring your "A" game.

Good for the driving range and maybe par three course. Good for some old fashioned practice, and the prices are decent. I wouldnt really recommend the full 18 holes, there are better courses that if one really wants a good game of golf should be willing to travel a little more.

The course is amazing and is well maintained overall. However, I found many ball marks that had not been fixed while playing on the greens of the par 3 course. River Pines still provides fun, challenging golf for a public course.

I played with my friends last Saturday. That golf club was so bad course, especially staff were very unkindness and service was no good. I never do play there again. Terrible Golf Club in Atlanta.

Love this course. Its right by the river and for a public course its wonderful. Impeccably groomed and the staff couldnt be more accommodating.

The course is in bad shape and the fee was $61 for a bad 18 holes. Way over priced definitely not worth it, unless it is your only option.
