Nice beach away from all the tall buildings, so there is no shade all the way until sunset. Free evening street parking on 87th terrace just north of the park, this parking lot is almost on the beach... However, the Miami Beach Police do harass people randomly at that parking lot in the evening. They flash bright lights in peoples faces, yell for no reason, use profanity. The beach north of the park is open 24 hours and belongs to Surfside. Its very relaxing and peaceful at night, but walking to the parking lot can be a risk of being harassed by Miami Beach police, who seems have nothing else better to do... Druggies and homeless dont scare me as much as these lunatics. What I have seen over the last few years was pretty disturbing. Once they just started beating this one men who walked ahead of me for no reason. Then they were yelling "what are you doing here!" "where are you from?" this was so bizarre... The Surfside side of the beach is very peaceful and is not under Miami Beach jurisdiction. Its a good place to meditate at night when it cools off. If you are coming on a bicycle from Miami Beach, you unfortunately will have to ride around through the busy street if you dont want to be harassed by the Miami Beach Police. Coming from the north would be a nice peaceful ride anytime of day...

I love the park, the beach, the BBQs, the bike trail, dog parks, showers and bathrooms (although they lock them up at sundown), it has nice pavilions to throw parties, and picnic tables, a kids play ground, workout equipment along a jogging path, ample parking, and it is the most family friendly beach in Dade county! We love this beach and area! There is also a free trolley might be electric or fuel efficient because it is slow to give you a tour of the North Shore area of Miami Beach! The 24 hour public L bus goes directly to this area for a small fee. Easy to get there, easy to park, also has citibank bicycle rentals every few blocks! Its awesome we love it!

As someone who lives in the community where the park is located and bikes through the park regularly, I can say this park is consistently and meticulously maintained. It is a great park for dog owners they even have separate areas for large and small dogs and dogs are cleaned after. The picnic areas require reservations and are cleaned and organized as well, trash is removed promptly. This park is special because it faces the beach; beach access is also maintained and organized with access to showers and bathrooms. Perfect for a bike ride, swim, or bbq, an amazing gathering for all.

We love this park. This park has showers, playground, lots of tables/BBQ spots, gazebos that are rentable for occasions, walking trails and, of course, the beach. All of that in a narrow longish park. This is really a great place during mornings/ early afternoons during weekdays, morning during weekends. After that, it gets crazy crowded. Youll know when its time to leave when theres no one at the beach but you and someone with an 80s boom box playing something at full volume will come and sit right next to you to keep you company...

Parque junto à praia com muitas sombras e que permite fazer piqueniques. O parque podia estar mais bem arranjado. Têm um circuito que permite fazer exercícios mas podia ser muito melhor. O que está mais bem cuidado é um parque para cães.

From my sons first birthday to the times when I was playing here as a kid this will always be in my memories as one of the greatest Parks right next to the one of the most beautiful and exquisite beaches, America and probably the whole world has to offer. The city is doing a lot of repairs to Miami Beach. And Im glad that theyre fixing the Open Space. It used to be were homeless people would sleep and do drugs. But its a clean, nice area/place where you can bring your family and have fun at the beach. They just added a dog park park, so you furry buddy can tag alone as well! Im really impressed with how the park has gotten.

Nice open spot to bbq with friends and family right next to the beach. Bbqs are tucked amongst the trees, so the are well shaded and comfortable. It gets pretty packed during the weekend, so its wise to get there early. And make sure you pay for enough parking time because the parking officers will give you a ticket the second your meter expires.

Beautiful park right next to the beach. Theres 2 dog parks, one for big dogs and one for small dogs. There are tables and grills scattered throughout the park. There are 3 pavilions - cement structures that provide overhead overage - that can be rented a head of time. They include 3 tables, 2 grills and access to electricity.

The park is nice its next to the beach. At night they have been lighting the park up with big lights and this is dangerous due to the fact on the beach there is about 25 sea turtle nesting in which when they come from their nest they go toward the light. This could kill the sea turtles. Not good at all.
